Description of the walk

The road accessible via the D73 at Pontoux, which leads to the woods and to the start of this walk at a place called La Vie aux Vaches, is particularly damaged. You can park in front of the start sign, but please be careful as the car park is relatively small (it can accommodate 5 vehicles). It is possible to park right at the start of the road leading to the woods; after the recycling centre on the right, there is a small dead-end road. At this point, your vehicle will not obstruct forestry machinery. However, this will add approximately 3 km to the round-trip hike!

(S/E) Take the forest track heading north-east, straight ahead, for 1.6 km.

(1) At the Étang des Rotures, take the path on the left and continue straight on for 400 metres.

(2) Take the grassy path on the right, then continue straight ahead. Walk alongside the Étang de la Gruyère. At the junction, take the road on the right and continue straight ahead. You will arrive at the hamlet of Couronne.

(3) Take the path on the right, which leads you back into the forest. Continue straight on for 1.7 km.

(4) At the Communaux crossroads, continue straight ahead; the path then curves naturally to the right. Follow it for 1.2 km to return to the car park (S/E).
