Start from Place du Jeu de Paume, where a magnificent fountain stands.
(S/E) Take the D428 and turn right into the housing estate. Follow the wall of the last house on the right, then turn left and head up to the pumping station (watch out for bees!).
(1) Cross the orchard at the top and follow the path that runs alongside the woods. Then head up a grassy track between the fields, heading north-west.
(2) At the top, at a crossroads, continue straight on and begin the descent.
(3) At the bottom, cross the Ruisseau du Moulin and head towards the village of Romain. Cross the D30, continue straight ahead and walk alongside the cemetery.
(4) Just after the cemetery, turn left. After about a hundred metres, head up to the right. The path turns left, heading due west.
(5) At the end, cross the road and follow it to the right for about 150 m. Take the first path on the left, which leads to Le Petit Hameau (Grand Hameau on the map).
(6) Turn right after the castle towards Breuil. Cross a farmyard and continue along the same road through the undergrowth.
(7) At the junction, take the hairpin bend to the left. Follow this wide path to the D30.
(8) Cross the road, pass the wayside shrine and follow the path opposite (south-east).
(9) At the end of the path, at the edge of the D230, take the path on the right. At the T-junction, turn left and walk alongside the Breuil ponds on your right.
(10) Cross the T-junction and follow the road to the right. Cross the Ruisseau du Moulin stream, then ignore thefirst path on the left.
(11) Take thesecond forest track on the left. At the junction at the edge of the forest (elevation 85), turn left.
(12) At the next junction, turn right. Ignore all turnings on the left. You will come out onto the D428; follow it to the left until you reach Place du Jeu de Paume (S/E).
