Description of the walk

Park in the car park at Guyencourt church.

(S/E) With your back to the church, head to the right. After passing the Sarrans signpost – which won’t be visible from this direction and is rather sporadic – continue straight on to reach the town hall junction.

(1) Continue straight ahead and turn left onto thefirst street, Rue des Comtes. Continue along the path; at the hut and corrugated iron fence, veer to the right. At the junction on the edge of the woods, turn 90° to the left. Cross the woods and you will come to another junction on the edge.

(2) Take the path on the left and stay on the main path until you reach the D19 road. Turn right onto it and you will come out at the entrance to the village of Roucy.

(3) Follow the road to the right, then take thethird street on the left after the church. Explore the village, going round the priory. You will reach the junction with the Chemin des Coutures.

(4) Here you have two options:
- continue straight ahead to reach La Mutte de Grillots
- turn left onto Chemin des Coutures, as shown on the map, then turn left into Rue du Pavillon. Continue along Rue des Marronniers and Place de l’Église. Turn right onto Rue de la Fontaine to return to the entrance to Roucy.

(3) Turn right onto Rue de Frévat, then follow the edge of the woods to reach the hamlet of Les Huris.

(5) Continue left, moving away from the woods, until you reach the edge of another wood. Follow the edge of the wood, turning right, and continue on to reach the four-way crossroads at La Mutte des Grillots.

(6) Here too, there are two options:
- continue straight ahead, taking a shortcut, to reach the D19 road.
- turn left, then at the next Y-junction, turn right. Join the D19 road.

(7) Cross it to take the road opposite, follow it along the edge of the woodland and, at the Moulin d'Arson crossroads, turn right. You will reach a new road.

(8) Turn left here to reach Bouffignereux. Turn left onto Rue de Guyencourt and continue to the junction with Rue de l’Église.

(9) Follow this street to the right, continuing along Chemin des Chenevières, which then turns into a grassy path. (You may need to go round some tree trunks). On this path, ignore all the turnings to the right or left and head for the Marais du Béreau.

(10) Turn right, leave the woods, continue straight ahead to the track, then keep going straight on until you reach the D225 road.

(11) Follow it to the left for a few metres, then turn right off it onto Rue de la Terrière. At the end of this street, you’ll return to the original crossroads.

(1) Turn left to return to the church car park (S/E) by following the route back in the opposite direction.

The route is signposted in the opposite direction. But it’s easy to follow using the app.
Two marker posts are missing.

The end of the route through the marsh is very muddy, but it had rained heavily a few days earlier.

A lovely walk on a sunny winter’s day. I took a slight detour at point (5): I continued straight along the path until the bend, where I took a small path to the right, crossing a small wooden bridge, and climbed up alongside the waterfall via the wooden steps. After the waterfall, I took the path along the edge of the forest, leaving the ruins of the Moulin de Roucy on my left. I rejoined the suggested route at point 147.
All the paths were in perfect condition.

Between "3" and "6", just outside Roucy, I took a detour to visit the waterfall and the Roucy mill, which makes the walk a bit more interesting.
Between "9" and "10", the path has been properly cleared; there are no longer any trees blocking the way.
