Start from the car park in front of the Berges de l'Yonne campsite, on the banks of the Yonne.
(S/E) Head south along the N151. Cross the railway line at the level crossing, then cross the canal.
(1) As you leave the bridge, cross the A-road and head towards Lucy-sur-Yonne. Follow the road (there is no towpath). Pass lock no. 53 and continue until you reach a road that climbs to the right.
(2) Follow the road to the right and walk alongside the Ferme de Bèze. Turn left with the road and pass by the foot of the water tower.
(3) At the end of the tarmac, continue along the path heading east-southeast. Ignore the paths branching off to the right and you will reach a T-junction. Take the path on the left and head north-east until you reach a small road.
(4) Follow the road down to the village of Lucy-sur-Yonne and arrive at the junction with the D21 opposite the church.
(5) Cross the D21 and, at the next three-way junction, go straight on and cross the Canal du Nivernais. Stay on the D214 and cross the Yonne. At the three-way junction, turn left. Turn right with the road and go under the railway bridge.
(6) Turn left onto the D39 towards Crain. About 50 metres further on, after the cross, take the path that climbs to the right.
(7) At the junction, turn left onto Chemin du Thureau. At the cemetery, follow the road to the right.
(8) At the fork, turn left onto Rue du Carré (one-way street). When you reach a square, turn left and walk past the church towards the stopover lodge. Cross the railway line at the level crossing.
(9) After the stopover lodge, turn right onto Rue du Port. After about a hundred metres, turn left to reach the banks of the Yonne. Follow the river and go under the railway bridge. Continue straight ahead and cross the N151. Immediately afterwards, turn left onto the old stone bridge and cross the Yonne. You will reach the car park opposite (S/E).
