The Andryes' Marsh path

Marked hike n°62.
This site located in the void diagonal, as some like to say, conceals many assets.
If, with the help of agricultural machinery, the search for productivity was the goal in the middle of the 20th century, it has not led to the expected results. Today, it is towards a restoration of biodiversity that we are moving. The fauna and flora are gradually returning.
Discovering this heritage also helps to educate children.
Superb educational walk!

Description of the walk

The departure is located at the parking lot situated down the road RD39.

(S/E) Follow the path with the pond on the left. Turn left to continue and keep the pond on the left. Go around by the path often laid out in the undergrowth.

(1) Arrived at the end of the pond, turn left once to join the access road and take it to the right.

(2) Go left at the aqueduct. Cross the river on the footbridge and turn right to reach the Buffières bridge. Turn left without crossing the bridge and reach a second bridge.

(3) Just before this bridge, turn left, continue along the canal on your right. In front of the barrier, take the footbridge on the right. At the exit, turn left and follow this canal. In front of the hedge, turn left, cross over the footbridge.

(4) Turn left, then cross the Druyes River (also called the Andryes Rill) by the wooden footbridge.
At the exit of it, prefer either opposite, the path on the wooden path lined with reeds or, at the exit of the footbridge, choose to take the path of Naturalness.
In both cases, arrive on the old railway line, go left.
Join the parking lot (S/E).

Hello Jackypaul,
Thank you for your positive feedback.
The observation site created by the Fédération des Chasseurs de l'Yonne is very recent. A footbridge linking the site and this trail is planned for summer 2020. As soon as it opens, I'll be happy to modify this description.
In the near future, signposting will be put in place for this trail in accordance with the charter drawn up by the Communauté de Communes de Puisaye-Forterre and a local signposting association.

There is a car park on the other side of the Druye, on the road from Andrye to Druyes- les Belles Fontaines, from where a short circuit on wooden footbridges leads to a hut for observing the birds of the marsh.
To complete the walk, you can stop off at Druyes where there is a small park with a dance hall and fitness trail along the spring pond.
not forgetting the castle and the viaduct

A lovely little one-hour walk. It's an easy, well-marked walk, with a variety of beautiful landscapes and a complete change of scenery. We were lucky enough to come across herons, egrets, swans and a coypu.

It's a nice little walk that's accessible to people with motor disabilities (not in wheelchairs). I myself have a disarticulated leg and a brace. You can breathe, really worth doing!
