The banks of the Yonne in Clamecy

Start at Place de l’Abattoir, opposite the sailing club.

(S/E) Facing the Yonne, turn left onto Port Saint-Roch then take the lock bridge on the right.

(1) Follow the river alongside the allotments. When you reach the sluice, cross the bridge, turn right and follow the canal to the farm (selling farm produce).

(2) Turn left into Rue du Moulin, cross the road, turn right and then immediately left into Rue du Flottage. Opposite No. 3, turn left into Rue du Général Cordonnier and, after the railway line, turn left again. Follow this path until you reach a cross-path.

(3) Turn left, then take the gravel path on the right. Turn left at the junction (elevation 159). The path turns right at a 90° angle, runs alongside the N151 and joins a road at Val des Rosiers.

(4) Turn left, cross the bridge over the N151, then take the first path on the right. Leave this path when it turns sharply right and continue straight on along the small grassy path which bends to the left and leads onto a small road.

(5) Turn right, then, at the end at the junction, turn left to head back down to Clamecy via Rue de la Croix des Récollets

(6) Enjoy the view of the collegiate church and continue along Rue du Président Wilson.

(7) Before the bridge, turn left, then right onto the small bridge and follow the Quai des Iles. Cross the Avenue du Général Leclerc and continue straight on. At the junction with Rue de la République, turn right, then take the second left. Turn into Rue de l'Abattoir at the next junction to reach the Ponts Verts car park and the starting point (S/E).
