Écuelles (Seine-et-Marne) walks

Running parallel to the Orvanne river, this hike takes place mainly through fields, with sections along the edge of woods and through pretty villages.

Hike in the Forest of Fontainebleau, with no difficulty except for a short steep climb, away from the busy paths and perfectly marked from start to finish.

Rising between Forterre and Puisaye, and after a course of more than 150 kilometres, the Loing flows into the Seine to the south-east of the Forest of Fontainebleau. This rather short route runs alongside these two rivers and the Canal du Loing for much of its length. A section through the forest adds variety to the landscape. The beautiful old Saint-Mammès Church and a few reproductions of paintings by Alfred Sisley add an undeniable touch of heritage to this walk.

A day's hike to enjoy the charm of the southern part of the Forest of Fontainebleau, combining rocky trails, beautiful woodland paths and the historical interest of villages and small towns (Bourron-Marlotte, Veneux-les-Sablons).

After a short climb up Mont Marion, you will skirt around the Plaine de Sorques, which is a sensitive natural area and a bird sanctuary.

An easy, almost entirely flat hike from Episy to Ecuelles via theGR® de Pays du Lunain, passing behind the Episy aerodrome. The return journey is along the towpath beside the Canal du Loing. This route is easily manageable for a brave child.

A circular route around the Étang de la Genevraye and a visit to the Marais d'Episy, which presents no difficulty.

Visit the medieval town of Moret-sur-Loing coming from Saint-Mammès along the banks of the Loing. Return along the banks of the Seine. Check the opening hours of the Pont Loup museum. Please note: on Sunday mornings, there is a market in the car park. The route has been significantly modified to take into account various passages that have become unusable by pedestrians and to avoid walking along the railway line on the way back, without walking too much on tarmac.

The Rocher des Princes is a medium-difficulty loop in the pretty Fontainebleau Forest. It alternates between fairly steep climbs and descents with flat paths, allowing you to rest between the difficult sections.

The forest route alternates between wide paths and trails that wind through rocky terrain. Before that, the crossing of Thomery offers beautiful heritage sites, including its grape walls and some beautiful views of the Seine.

A loop offering beautiful views of the Seine and its valley! After an initial section in the forest, the trail follows a pleasant path along the riverbank, offering superb panoramic views. The hike ends on the banks of the Seine, with a picturesque passage on the small island of Basses Godernes.

This hike, which begins and ends in the forest of Fontainebleau, takes us on a journey to discover the painter Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) and the château where she lived and set up her studio. We then stroll among the old vine walls that made Thomery famous in its day. A footpath offers the opportunity for a picturesque walk along the banks of the Seine.

A hike from station to station starting from Montigny-sur-Loing. A varied route through the forest with a few rocks and the banks of the Loing. The Loing valley is an authentic green paradise that can be explored over a medium distance via footpaths, rural tracks and towpaths. This route takes you along the river and the canal of the same name, which flow side by side until they meet the Seine.

A hike from station to station through the eastern part of the Forest of Fontainebleau, which is not the most popular area of this forest. The forest trail alternates between wide paths and trails that wind through rocky terrain. Several viewpoints offer extensive panoramic views.

Flat terrain to warm up, ending with rocks...

A loop in the heart of Fontainebleau: a magnificent poetic pond, venerable oak trees, four viewpoints, memories of revolutionary battles, a cave, a chasm, sandstone cliffs... and plenty of peace and quiet.

A rural hike that alternates between old villages, former quarries, forest and the banks of the Seine. The road that was previously used for the return journey has changed from a private road to a public road and is no longer suitable for walking, hence a significant change to the route.

This quite long route allows you to discover exceptional sites such as the Rempart du Restant du Long Rocher ('the rampart of the remainder of Long Rock'), Béatrix Cave and Carrosse Rock. You will also go past magnificent viewpoints, rarely visited walkways and some beautiful ponds, typical of the forest.

Take a loop around the Étang de la Clarette, with a short historical walk along the Loing and through the wonderful village of Gretz-sur-Loing. Very pleasant, with unforgettable views along the Loing.

A succession of beautiful, long, shaded and sunny paths between two rocky outcrops. Discover the natural diversity of the Fontainebleau Massif with minimal road crossings.

An easy route on marked paths, passing several interesting points of interest: monuments, Roche Éponge, springs, Tour Dénécourt, Mares Froideau, Rocher Cassepot, Rocher Saint-Germain, Grotte aux Cristaux, Mare à Piat, Butte Saint-Louis and Petit Mont. Most of the route is in the shade, with beautiful trees.

It is a short, relatively easy circuit exploring some curiosities of the forest of Fontainebleau around the Avon SNCF train station, namely the views over the Croix du Calvaire, the Sponge Rock, Denecourt Tower and fountains. One could also call it the fountain circuit.

The best of the Denecourt-Colinet trails nos. 1, 2 and 3 in a day's hike! The Croix d'Augas, the rocks of Mont Ussy, the Solle racecourse, the Rocher Cassepot, the Denecourt Tower, the Circuit des Fontaines, and return via the beautiful viewpoint of the Croix du Calvaire. N.B. As is often the case with the Denecourt-Colinet trails, the automatic calculation underestimates the twists and turns in the rocks: allow for 17 km and 250 m of elevation gain, or 5 hours.

This hike is accessible by train, which drops you off in the middle of the forest (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). The route mainly follows the Denecourt-Colinet trails, nicknamed "blue trails" because of the colour of their markings. It winds through the undergrowth, far from the wide forest paths, and on several sections, it twists and turns among the rocks.

Long but very nice hike station to station in the Forest of Fontainebleau. It goes through several viewpoints, ponds, little known corners, stunning scenery.
