Departure from Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons station (Transilien line R).
(S/E) From the west exit of the station (via an underpass), follow theGR®11-TMFsigns, which first cross the small town of Veneux-les-Sablons (basic supplies available on the main street).
(1) Cross the former N6 (departmental road 606) via an underpass. Continue to follow the signs for about 800 metres on the Route des Sablons until you reach the crossroads at elevation 93.
(2) Then take Route de Marion des Roches, which is the second road on the left. Follow this road south for just over 2 km. At the junction with Route du Long Rocher, Route Marion des Roches continues uphill for about 150 metres to climb a small rocky outcrop and then descends for the same distance and elevation to the junction with Route de l'Homme Fossile.
(3) Turn right (west) onto Route de l'Homme Fossile (a memorable story dating back to 1823 when children believed they had discovered a petrified horseman and his horse).
(4) Cross the D148 and continue opposite on Route de la Gravine, a magnificent enclosed path.
(5) Turn left, cross the Route du Roi de Varsovie coming from the south and head west-southwest uphill. Come out onto the Route du Roi de Pologne and follow it westwards on a slight downhill slope. Come out onto the Route du Croc Marin and follow it to the right.
(6) At the crossroads (photo), turn right onto Route du Languedoc. After about 300 metres, cross the Denécourt-Colinet trail no. 11-17. Follow this blue-marked trail to the right for about 20 metres.
(7) Turn left onto trail no. 11 (Sentier de l'Enfer), still marked in blue. This trail winds between the rocks and allows you to discover picturesque rocks identified by letters of the alphabet, and some beautiful viewpoints, including a panoramic view from a beautiful cave (Grotte Béatrix).
(8) Continue south on the blue trail.
(9) Return to the Languedoc Road and follow it to the right (west-southwest), leaving trail no. 11.
(10) Return to trail no. 11 and follow it to the right (blue markings).
(11) Continue on the Blue trail (west) for a second rocky section known as "des Etroitures", which is considerably easier than the previous one. Cross the D58 road and continue between the rocks. Pass a viewpoint and descend to the picturesque Mare aux Fées.
(12) From the car park next to the pond, turn right and follow a small tarmac road westwards. After a few metres, turn left and follow the road southwards. At the Carrefour des Naturalistes, continue straight ahead and descend.
(13) At the next crossroads, turn right onto Route de la Grande Vallée. At Carrefour de la Grande Vallée, take the third left (green and white markings). At Carrefour du Fusil, go straight ahead. You will come out onto Route Rossini; follow it to the right for about 50 metres.
(14) At the crossroads, follow a small tarmac road on the left (green and white markings). At the fork (first houses), turn right. Follow the green and white markings along Rue des Quatre Chemins and then Rue des Bois. At the crossroads, take the second left onto Rue Marceau. At the end, turn left and you will immediately arrive at the foot of the church.
(15) Then turn right onto Rue Chevreuil. At the end, follow Avenue Blaise de Montesquiou to the right. Ignore Chemin de l'Étang on the left and continue south-west. At the roundabout, turn left to reach Bourron-Marlottte-Grez station (E).
