The car park is behind the Episy lock. Head towards La Genevraye, on the right.
(S) From the car park, take the towpath to the right. At the lock, cross Grande Rue and follow the towpath opposite. At first, the towpath is tarmac, then it becomes a farm track.
(1) Turn right, cross a small bridge and follow the path to Rue Basse, where you turn left.
(2) Take the path on the right, between two houses. Follow this path, which turns left, until you reach Rue du Grenier à Sel (cemetery). Turn right and follow this street until you reach Route d'Ecuelles (caution: heavy traffic). Turn left, cross the road and then turn right onto Chemin de la Vallée Droite. You will see red and yellow markings; you are now on theGR® de Pays du Lunain. Follow the markings until you reach Ecuelles, going around Moret-Episy aerodrome on the right and continuing north-east. You will arrive in Ecuelles via Rue du Château d'Eau.
(3) At Rue de l'Eglise, turn left (note the old water pump). Go down the street to Place de l'Eglise and turn left. Turn left onto the D40 (Rue Georges Villette) and then almost immediately right. Then head down towards the canal via Rue de la Fontaine Saint-Rémy (you'll see the fountain on your left in the street).
(4) You will arrive at a square with benches: handy after an hour's walk. At the edge of the canal, turn left and follow it to the lock bridge. Depending on the season, the path to the bridge can be very muddy.
(5)At the lock, turn right, cross the canal via the bridge, then turn left and follow the towpath to the lock where you started. (Please note: there are many cyclists on the towpath).
(6) Cross the Grande Rue and then the canal, turning left. The car park is then on the right.
