To get to the car park, head towards Moirans-en-Montagne. It is located at the roundabout on the outskirts of Moirans-en-Montagne, heading towards Lons-le-Saunier.
At the roundabout, follow the signs for the Belvédère du Regardoire and park in the large car park on the right.
(S/E) The western edge of the car park is lined with trees. Head towards the centre to join the path signposted for Charchilla (yellow markings). Keep heading north-north-east until you reach the lay-by on the D470, then turn left onto the small road.
(1) 50 m before the D470, take the path on the left and continue to the Auberge Jurassienne. In front of the Auberge Jurassienne, cross the D301 and continue along the path – which initially runs parallel to the D301 – until you reach Charchilla.
(2) Head left, towards the west, along the lake road for 200 m, then take the path on the left to rejoin the D301.
(3) Head south for 150 m and turn right onto the forest track towards the Belvédère de la Roche aux Corneilles ( GRP® yellow and red markings).
Follow this path to the turning area intended for those reckless enough to have set off on this route. The viewpoint is situated 20 metres along the small path branching off to the right from the turning area.
(4) Turn back to the turning area, then continue to the right along the path towards La Refrèche/Moirans-en-Montagne (red markings). Follow this path for 2 km to reach the Route de la Refrèche.
(5) Turn right to admire the view of the lake and the Crique de la Refrèche. Retrace your steps and continue along the road for 500 metres. Leave the Route de la Refrèche and take the Route Forestière des Forges on the right. Continue to the cove and the Grotte des Forges.
(6) Once you reach the cave, take a moment to soak up the beauty of the place.
As you approach the cave, the rocks are slippery. There is a risk of falling, so please take care.
Next, leave the cave area via the path on the right, which heads north at first and climbs towards Moirans-en-Montagne. Continue uphill for 1 km.
(7) At the end of the path, turn left to return to the Route de la Refèche, then head left (north) for 100 m until you reach the signpost for “Granges de Marleille”.
(8) Follow the path on the right towards Le Regardoir/Moirans-en-Montagne ( GR® red and white markings). Follow the markings carefully as there are many small paths branching off on either side.
(9) At the signpost for “Champ Piernet”, turn left to follow the signs for Les Araignées/Le Regardoir (yellow markings)
(10) Pass the viewpoint overlooking the Refrèche ravine and continue to the end of the path to reach the track running parallel to the D470.
(11) Continue to the left to reach the car park, which is 400 metres away (S/E).
