Access: take the road through Ceillac towards the Cristillan valley and park in the small car park opposite the wooden sign marked Le Villard.
(S/E) Head up the wide path (north-north-east) until you reach the junction with the forest track.
(1) Turn left and head towards the houses. Walk through the hamlet of Le Villard until you find the start of the path towards the Col de Bramousse on your left.
(2) Stay on the track until you reach a new path junction above the small Sainte-Barbe Chapel.
(3) Take this very good path to the right. Follow the yellow markings. Cross a wooded area of spruce and then larch trees. Reach the junction withthe GR®®58.
(4) Ignore the path coming from the left and follow the red and white markings to the right ofthe GR®®58. Reach the Col de Bramousse.
(5) Turn right towards Col Fromage, leaving theGR®®58. A little further on, you’ll come to a junction.
(6) Continue to Château Jean Grossan via a path that loops back to the rocky promontory overlooking the Cristillan valley. Retrace your steps and turn right.
After a fairly easy north-facing climb, you’ll reach a Y-junction.
(7) Turn sharply right (south) and stay at roughly the same altitude below the ridges until you reach another junction.
(8) Take a path on your left up to the unnamed summit at 2,582m. You’ll be rewarded with a magnificent panorama – not to be missed!
(9) Retrace your steps to the previous junction.
(8). Continue eastwards, then descend via the winding path (avoid descending via the ridge path) to Col Fromage, where you will rejoin theGR®®5.
(10). Turn right onto theGR®®5and follow a superb descent to join the forest track before the hamlet of Le Villard.
(2). Turn left and follow the same path as on the way out to return to the car park (S/E).
