Chemin de Bel-Air

The route starts from the square opposite the school complex, between the Grande Rue and the Rue du Champ de Foire.
(S/E) Set off along Rue du Champ de Foire heading east and turn right onto Rue de la Vigne (leaving Rue du Potier on your right). At the first junction, turn right and then immediately left onto the small path to reach the hamlet of Les Roubdeaux. In this hamlet, follow the main street on the left to reach the first crossroads.

(1) Take the path on the left without crossing the road. When you reach a thick hedge, turn left; then, once you’re on the road, turn right to cross the railway line. Continue along this small road until you reach the first path on the left.

(2) Take this path and continue along it until you reach the road, where you turn left and follow it for 600 metres. At the small copse on the left, take the path on the right. Walk alongside the woods until you reach a crossroads.

(3) Turn left (markings on the ground) to find yourself opposite the Bel-Air farm. You’ll need to turn left 80 metres before this farm and carry on straight ahead to reach the hamlet of Les Bourys.

(4) Cross the road (D125) and continue along the path to La Galarderie. Turn right and walk alongside the fields and woods that form the boundary between the departments of Nièvre and Yonne.
Keep following this path, ignoring three offshoots to the left.

(5) Cross a first small road, then a second one, to reach the hamlet of Le Grêlat.

(6) At the fork in the road, turn left, walk past the stadium, cross the viaduct over the railway line to reach the junction with a main road (D6).

(7) Cross this road and take the grassy path which leads onto the D104.

(8) 50 metres after this junction, take the footpath on the left to return to the village. You’ll come out onto the road from Etais to Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines. Cross the road and head straight on towards the church, which you should walk round by keeping to the left of the building. Once you reach the Route de Gare, turn left onto it for 20 metres and then turn right into Rue Hongroise. At the end of this street, turn right. At the stop sign, turn left, then left again and finally right to return to the starting point (S/E).

In summer, as the route has few shaded areas, please bring water and appropriate equipment.
In Montfoin, two old windmills serve as a reminder that wind power was widely used in this area.
On the church façade, in the alleyway, if you look up, you’ll be delighted to discover the painted sundial.
This walk is organised bythe Puisaye-Forterre Tourist Office.
The route is signposted by the association ‘À chacun son chemin en Puisaye-Forterre’ in accordance with the graphic guidelines of the Puisaye-Forterre Community of Communes, following the direction of the description, and is marked No. 26.
However, as the route is signposted, you must set off with at least this description and the accompanying IGN map or the Visorando app.
