Chasteaux walks

This route, based on the theme of the Blagour de Chasteaux underground network, allows you to discover the Couze sinkhole, the dry valley of Entrecor, the Jonquilles chasm and the resurgence of underground waters at the source of the Blagour.

This circular route around the limestone hill of Fournet offers a variety of landscapes, both on the side of the Causse lake and the listed village of Chasteaux, and on the north side towards the Vézère valley and the hills of Yssandon, Perpezac-le-Blanc and Saint-Robert. The route takes few paved roads and little-used paths and trails, with the exception of the two kilometres that follow part of the route around the Causse lake.

An easy walk through the forest ends at Notre-Dame de Fournet, with a beautiful view of the Couze valley. The route also offers a glimpse of Lake Chasteaux.

This path through the hills above Collonges shows you how the village was supplied with water until the mid-20th century. Along this circuit, there are several points of historical interest with audio commentary available via audio terminals.

A lovely walk, partly through woodland and partly in sunny open country. Very little road walking. Please note that the route does not pass through the Travassac slate quarry, which is a paid attraction.

Loop around Meyssac and Collonges-La-Rouge to discover the geological fault that has left a deep mark on the ground. Red sandstone to the north and white limestone to the south will take you to the Chaise du Diable (Devil's Chair) where you can rest before diving back into the valley.

A circular route starting from Meyssac towards Chauffour-sur-Vell along paths and small roads. Wash houses, fountains, springs and beautiful buildings adorn this fairly easy hike.

A beautiful hike around the Biou and Couze rivers, which flow into Lake Couze. Very shady, it passes four mills, some of which have been restored but are no longer in operation. The gradient is sometimes a little steep, but it's worth it. Please note: there is a deforested area between points (5) and (6), which is impassable in wet weather.

A hike along beautiful wooded paths or pastures to discover an unusual sundial.

A five-minute walk from Brive and Malemort along the streams that feed the Barrage de la Couze dam. A shaded route through the woods, with the only drawback being a slightly steep hill on a tarmac road. You will pass three old mills, which are no longer in use but reflect the life of yesteryear. PLEASE NOTE: deforested area between points 3 and 4, impassable in wet weather.

This easy hike will take you along the Canal des Moines in a bucolic, shaded setting, starting from one of the prettiest villages in Corrèze.

A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. It is a truly exceptional work. This route also allows you to discover the ruins of the Aubazines Women's Monastery. The Moines Canal skilfully follows the curves of the hill and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's mill.

A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. This circuit also allows you to discover a dolmen, a dry stone "village" built by a hermit, the Puy de Pauliac with its orientation table and its cromlech. The Canal aux Moines skilfully follows the curves of the hill for about 1.5 km and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's watermill.

A hike punctuated by natural and built heritage treasures, from the medieval town of Martel to the Romanesque church of Murel, the mill and the resurgence of the Œil de la Doue.

Ayen, Saint-Robert, Perpezac-le-Blanc and Segonzac are among the hilltop towns of the Yssandonnais region. Located in the foothills of the Massif Central, they all share a unique geological feature: they are isolated hills with very distinctive flora and fauna that are well worth observing or photographing. Since 2011, these towns have been part of the Vézère-Ardoise region of art and history.

Ayen is a nature destination between Limousin and Périgord! In the past, these well-oriented, sunny hillsides were used for vineyards, but today they are home to fruit crops: the Limousin apple route passes through Ayen. You will cross walnut groves: Ayen, the birthplace of the Corne variety, has been listed on the "Périgord Walnut" route since 2002.

This magnificent trail will allow you to discover part of the Vézère Gorges in a preserved and wild natural setting. Panoramic view of the Brive basin.

A lovely route that takes you from the Saillant Chapel to the Chartroulle Chapel, discovering one of the rare vineyards in Corrèze, on the slopes of the Vézère in the commune of Allassac. A few steep slopes and paths that can be muddy in the rainy season, but a beautiful panorama.

Route on the heights of Souillac, towards the Marjaudes and Présignac viaducts. A very pleasant hike in spring and early summer, with its diverse and varied flora, panoramic views, birdsong, shaded and varied passages and peaceful walks.

A winding route through the woods, between greenery and running water...

This route consists of two circular loops, one 6 km long and the other 9 km long, which can be done independently. They are marked in yellow from the town hall in Cornil. The first passes along the banks of the Corrèze and the arboretum, while the second offers a long stretch through the forest. The whole route is fairly shaded, which can be pleasant in summer. A short detour allows you to admire the ruins of the castle and the church overlooking the village of Cornil.

Just 20 minutes from Malemort-sur-Corrèze, this shaded walk with very little tarmac allows you to discover the large Étang de Lachamp lake and the forests surrounding Favars. A pleasant walk in hot weather. This hike takes 2½ hours.

A very varied walk in the municipality of Floirac. Stream, "couasne" (backwater), mill, fountain, wayside cross and dry stone walls... It's a joy to discover all this heritage.

This circular offers a rural walk through green countryside between meadows and walnut groves. You will pass Moulin de la Borie, Château de la Roussie, along the Enéa river and a myriad of lakes. The stone houses with their slate roofs are full of charm.
