(S/E) Departure from the Place des Troubadours car park near the multi-purpose hall. When leaving the car park, turn right then left at the end of the street. Head towards the church at the second street and enter Place Saint-Martin. On the square opposite the church, head towards the car park on the right and turn left onto Chemin du Moulin. Continue straight ahead until you reach the stone calvary.
(1) Take the road to the right of the cross and climb to the top of the hill. At the fork, continue straight ahead on the track, leaving it opposite the bend and heading towards the windmill.
(2) Facing the mill, return to the tarmac road by turning left. Follow the road to the right, which curves to the left. At the first crossroads, turn left towards Gignac and pass in front of the Touron fountain-wash house (from the Occitan "lo toron" meaning spring or fountain, pronounced lou touroun).
(3) Continue. At the first EDF pole, turn onto the path on the right. Turn right, then take a long left turn and another right turn until you reach the tarmac road. Turn left until you reach the first house on the left side of the road. Take the grassy path on the right (not very visible) which leads to the Roman fountain of La Quique on the edge of the ancient Rodez-Périgueux road.
(4) Return to the tarmac road and immediately turn right onto a forest track. At the first crossroads, turn right towards the Pierre des Trois Evêques site.
(5) This is the junction of three departments: Corrèze, Dordogne and Lot. Here stands the boundary marker for three regions: Limousin, Périgord and Quercy; three municipalities: Estivals, Nadaillac and Gignac; and three bishoprics: Tulle, Périgueux and Cahors.
Turn around and at the crossroads go straight on along the path that descends into the dry valley. Climb up the other side to the village of Maisons Rouges, keeping to the left.
(6) Cross the Route des Maisons Rouges, take the path that descends and runs alongside a barn. Cross the road called "Route du Quercy" on the right and "Route de Nadaillac" on the left. Continue straight on to the hamlet of Lac Ferrier (mistakenly written as Lac férié...).
After the farm, take the dirt track. Continue straight ahead until you reach the tarmac road. Follow it straight ahead until you reach a remarkable view of the village of Gignac.
(7) Continue and go down the path. At the entrance to the village, look for a metal tree by the artist COSTA, called "Arbre des Trois Régions" (Tree of the Three Regions): Périgord, Limousin and Quercy.
(8) Turn right and walk past the town hall of Gignac. Keep going and take the first street on the left to reach the car park behind the town hall and the multi-purpose hall. (S/E)
