Are you familiar with the Plateau de Méginand, a sensitive and preserved natural area stretching across five municipalities in western Lyon? This agricultural plateau is home to mixed farming and livestock breeding, as well as little-known fauna and flora. A hike of around 20km, starting and ending at the church in Sainte-Consorce. A varied route through woods, meadows and suburban areas.

A countryside hike on the outskirts of the city. An easy, almost flat route, ideal for family outings. It allows you to discover the Ratier, Méginand and Ribes streams. It offers some pretty views of the Monts du Lyonnais. It also features a "Jeux de regards" activity along the Ribes.

This circular hike is not very long, but it does have some relatively wild and fairly steep sections. Largely through woodland, often on metamorphic rock paths, this route will take you to the surprisingly peaceful summit of hill 566, just a stone's throw from the town. Warm up in the Bois des Plasses in the municipalities of Dommartin and Dardilly.

Woods and river in the city! It's difficult to find an area entirely covered in trees that is both close to Lyon and large enough for several hours of walking.The paved sections are very limited; you mainly walk in a steep-sided valley, along the water's edge, namely the Yzeron stream, and under the constant canopy of trees. This makes it ideal during hot weather.The route is mostly flat, except for the loop on Findez hill.For those who dislike tarmac and don't want to go too far, this valley nestled between Craponne and Francheville is a good choice.

Parking: 4 spaces for cars a few metres from the start of the path.It's rare to find a quiet walk that barely touches tarmac in the Monts d'Or. This one does just that. You get to spend two hours in the forest near Lyon without any physical challenge. Ideal for families.
