Access: go to Sainte-Consorce (a commune west of Lyon) via Marcy-l'Étoile or Saint-Genis-les-Ollières. Park in the carpool car park or the community centre car park (below the town hall) near the school complex.
(S/E) From the community centre car park, walk down Rue des Monts, alongside the school complex.
(1) At the first crossroads, turn left onto Chemin du Badel. Follow the sign for "Parc d'Activités de Sainte-Consorce". At the next crossroads, turn left onto Chemin du Massenot (no entry).
Cross Route de Sainte-Consorce (you are now in Marcy). Be careful of traffic.
Continue straight on Chemin de la Grande Serve, which becomes Chemin de la Madone on Marcy-l'Étoile. Pass in front of "la Madone".
(2) Turn left onto Chemin de Bellevue, which leads to Chemin de Grange Neuve. At the "Grange Neuve 330m" sign, continue straight ahead on Chemin des Teyssonnières.
(3) At the crossroads with Chemin du Raimon, continue straight ahead on Chemin du Berthier. In the bend, take the dirt track that climbs to the left. At the "Les Teyssonnières 344m" signpost, continue straight ahead. As you climb, walk alongside the ranch.
(4) Take the first dirt track on the right. Cross the Ruisseau de Larny stream.
(5) At "Côte Rivière", turn left, then after 300 metres ("côte 339"), leave the path that climbs to the right and continue straight ahead. Cross the Larny stream again. Leave Impasse du Tronchil on your left.
(6) 200 metres further on, turn right onto Chemin de Fourvière. Leave the track that descends to the right and follow the path into Pipora.
When you reach the CD99 Sainte-Consorce - Pollionnay road, turn right and continue for 300 metres (watch out for traffic) until you reach the crossroads: Valency hamlet.
(7) Turn left onto Chemin Mulet. Enjoy beautiful views of the village of Sainte-Consorce on the left and Pollionnay and the Route des Crêtes on the right. At La Grand Croix, you will cross the old Vieux Bourg - Pollionnay road, known as Route Napoléon III.
Descend the wooded valley alongside the waterfalls below the Étang des Gazettes. Leave the path that climbs up to the left and cross the Ratier stream. The climb through the undergrowth leads to Les Grandes Terres.
(8) As soon as you leave the woods, descend the rocky path on the left. After crossing the Ratier, climb up towards the hamlet of Le Charmillon. Cross it.
(9) At "Le Charmillon", climb up to the village on the left via Chemin du Charmillon and Avenue des Combattants. 200 metres from the finish, pass the statue of Sainte-Consorce and the new orientation table, which shows the location of the Alps and Mont Blanc, Lyon and its surroundings, Mont du Pilat, etc.
Arrive at the town hall and car park (S/E)
