Parking in Craponne on the spaces along the Voie Romaine: do not enter the Impasse du Goby as there is no parking available.
Accessible by public transport: bus C24, Craponne Centre stop 400 m from the start of the walk.
(S/E) To start, turn into Impasse du Goby and go straight down. At the end, the cul-de-sac turns into a path leading down to the Ruisseau du Ratier, which you cross via a metal bridge.
(1) Go up the access ramp to Saint-Genis-les-Ollières: opposite the bridge - signposted "St-Genis-les-Ollières". Continue straight ahead when the path leads to Rue de l'Église, then follow this street which winds its way to the church (about 500 m).
(2) Once behind the church, turn left, walk along the side of the church square and cross the crossroads to take Rue Jean Piccandet, which you should follow for about 200 m until you reach the junction with Rue de la Vuldy on the left. Follow this street, which turns into a path. Continue along this path and go around the primary school. Continue to Rue Louis Gayet and turn right onto Avenue Marcel Mérieux, which you should follow to the right until you reach the traffic lights.
(3) Cross and turn left onto Rue des Monts d'Or, which zigzags between the houses. Continue for about 1 km. The street turns into a path.
(4) Take the chicane on the left and continue along the path that winds between the meadows. Enjoy the unobstructed view of the Monts du Lyonnais.
(5) After the stream bed, take the chicane on the left and walk along the edge of the forest. About a hundred metres after a bend, the path leads to Chemin de Méginand (tarmac).
(6) Turn right onto Chemin de Méginand, which you will leave after about 50 metres to take Chemin de Bois-Ponard opposite. 100 metres further on, continue right onto the dirt track (PR® sign "Tassin") and walk along the Méginant plateau for about 2 kilometres to reach the tarmac road of Bois-Ponard. Continue to the crossroads.
Continue straight ahead, join Chemin de Chante Ruisseau and follow it to the left, descending towards Ruisseau de Ribes. 50 metres before the stream, turn right before the gas installation onto the path that runs along the edge of the forest to Rue Georges Kayser.
(7) Cross carefully at the chicane and take the path opposite into the pretty Ribes valley. Continue straight ahead until you reach the rural path, which you should take on the left. This path joins the Ribes stream, which it follows until it reaches a concrete path that joins Rue Louis Pradel on the right.
(8) Cross carefully, walk along the street on the left for about 50 metres and take the path with steps on the right. Go up this path and follow it to Rue des Mourrons. Continue straight ahead and walk along the cemetery.
(9) Turn left onto Rue de la Vallée, which descends towards Ruisseau du Ratier. Continue along the road, which bends to the right, until you reach the "no entry - private property" sign.
(10) Turn right onto the path that climbs through the undergrowth. After 100 metres, take the chicane on the left. Walk along the Ruisseau du Ratier to the metal bridge.
(1) Cross the bridge and head uphill towards Impasse du Goby. Return to the car park (S/E).
