Parking near the church.
(S/E) Go to the signs marking the start of the hike at the roundabout on Avenue Jean Colomb.
Cross the roundabout and take Chemin de la Madone opposite, follow it for 300 metres then turn right onto Chemin des Granges Neuves and follow it for about 500 metres.
(1) On leaving the town, at the fork, take Chemin de Teysonnières on the left. Pass the junction with Chemin du Raimon and continue straight ahead.
(2) A little further on, after a house on a bend in the woods, take an uphill path on the left. At the first intersection, turn left.
Then continue straight ahead. Cross one road, then a second, and continue on Chemin de Lardellier.
(3) Turn right onto Chemin du Vieux Bourg. The tarmac quickly gives way to dirt.
Continue straight ahead on Chemin des Colombières, which leads to a hamlet.
(4) Stop at the stone cross and turn right onto Chemin de Fouillassy.
Be careful: immediately after the house, take the dirt track on the left that passes between the farm buildings, go along the pond and turn right onto an uphill path that leads to a house. Turn right and continue downhill then uphill towards Valency.
(5) When you reach the road, take Rue du Mas de Valenceu opposite and continue straight ahead until you reach an intersection. Turn left uphill onto Chemin des Fourches Vieilles.
(6) At the bend, take the path opposite.
The path climbs through the woods. Stay on the main track, ignoring the first path that branches off to the left, then at the next intersection, turn left and climb fairly steeply.
(7) You will arrive at a flat area near a fir tree plantation. Take the path on the left. You will pass through a clearing with felled trees where the trail is less visible. Take the path that climbs to the right.
(8) You will come to a well-marked path. Take it to the left, then to the right, then straight on until you reach the junction with thePR® des Monts du Lyonnais.
(9) Turn right onto the path and follow it downhill for about 1 km.
(10) At the Col de Fontrijole junction, continue straight ahead, heading north towards Malatray. The path descends into the forest before rejoining the tarmac road about 700 m further on.
(11) At the hamlet of Sous Mercruy, turn right onto Chemin des Landes (signposted Route du Poirier). Continue straight ahead. Cross a road, take it on the right and very quickly take the path that descends to the left. Follow it and rejoin the tarmac road just before Château du Poirier. Continue straight ahead.
(12) Cross the busy D7 road, taking care to cross safely, and take Chemin du Bois Seigneur opposite. At the intersection, continue straight ahead on Chemin du Bas Perrier and follow it for about 600 m.
(13) Be careful not to go past the high-voltage power line. Turn right before it onto a path that leads you to cross the D7 again (still carefully). Cross a small esplanade and take the path opposite that goes down alongside the house (don't hesitate, the path turns 90° at a wall and continues on the left, then crosses a small bridge).
Continue along this path, which runs alongside the equestrian centres, before rejoining the Granges Neuves path.
(1) Turn left and retrace your steps to return to your starting point (S/E).
