Tousaus Hut circular route – Gavarnie
The Cabane des Tousaus is a short route designed for beginners to try their hand at snowshoeing. It is an easy destination for those looking to hike in the snow and who need to gain a little altitude.
Once you reach your destination, you can stop for a picnic and enjoy an already exceptional panoramic view over part of the Ossoue Valley and the Soum Blanc ridge, stretching from Secugnat to the Soum des Canaus.
The presence of many other snowshoers and skiers in the vicinity makes for a safe, stress-free hike where you can follow the trail by sight.
From Gourette to Saint-Lary-Soulan
An 8-stage hiking tour, undertaken by two of us from 17 to 25 July 2019, between Gourette and Saint-Lary-Soulan. The route follows theGR®10trail for the most part, although we added a detour through the Marcadau Valley as well as a rest day in Gavarnie.
Oulettes de Gaube Mountain Hut – Gavarnie
The fifth stage of the trek, which links the Oulettes de Gaube mountain hut to Gavarnie, began with the ascent of the Petit Vignemale (3,032 m) early in the day.
Lac de Gaube - Cabane des Tousaus
Second stage of the four-day adventure from Cauterets to Luz-Saint-Sauveur via Petit Vignemale and Gavarnie. It can be done in one day, but I think it would be more enjoyable to split it into two days to take the time to appreciate the magnificent scenery!
