Description of the walk

Park at Col de Tentes.

(S/E) Follow the south-west facing path leading to Port de Boucharo.

(1) Head left and traverse the foot of Taillon to reach a fork at the foot of the Taillon Glacier.

(2) Ignore the path on the left that descends towards the Plateau de Bellevue and continue straight ahead. Cross the Col des Sarradets and arrive at the refuge.

(3) Continue along the path, which becomes steep, to reach the Brèche de Roland.

(4) Cross it and turn left to reach the Pas des Isards at the foot of the Casque du Marboré: chain in place.

(5) Continue for a long time along the exposed strata, passing at the foot of the Tour du Marboré.

(6) Climb left onto the ledge and continue to the frozen lake at the foot of the Col du Cylindre.

(7) Continue south-east and climb up a notorious scree slope to reach the summit of Mont Perdu.

(8) Take the time to enjoy the 360° panorama and turn back to the frozen lake.

(7) Head left, due south, towards the Goritz Refuge and begin a steep descent.

(9) About 600 m before reaching the refuge, take the path on the right to find the bivouac site (E).

Notes

(7) It is easier to walk along the foot of the cliff on the left than in the hollow of the scree. This may change over time, but it worked better on the day we passed through.
