Cabane du Jas and Le Morgonnet

From Savines, take the D594 towards Sauze-du-Lac. Take the Col de Pontis road and pass through the village of Pontis. Then take a forest track on the left and head for the car park at the barrier.

(S/E) Go through the barrier, turn right onto the track, and follow a gentle climb to join the GRP® Tour du Lac de Serre-Ponçon.

(1) Turn left onto it; it is also on the track. Now follow the yellow and red markings. Walk through the forest of larch, black pine and Scots pine. Then walk alongside a large field before reaching the Col du Morgonnet.

(2) Turn left onto the small path climbing through the forest. Reach the crossroads at the foot of the Morgonnet.

(3) Take the path on the left to reach the summit of the Morgonnet with ease.

(4) Continue straight ahead, then return to the previous crossroads.

(3) Return in the opposite direction to the Col du Morgonnet.

(2) Turn left onto an almost level path to reach the Cabane du Jas.

(5) Continue straight ahead, descending along the ridge to the pass. Turn left just before the Crête de la Coquille (a 20-minute walk further on) to reach the car park (S/E).
