Bazian walks

From Bazian, one of the best-restored villages in Gascony, follow the ridgelines through beautiful landscapes dotted with numerous windmills, signs of a former specialisation in agriculture. In the Osse valley, starting from Riguepeu, this route offers pleasant landscapes and remarkable views.

As you head up through the woods, you will join the Way of St James and admire the unspoilt Gers countryside.

Between the Douze and Auzoue valleys, the village of Lupiac, perched on a hill, is crossed by the Chemin de César, an ancient Roman road also known as the Ténarèze. A fortified village, Lupiac belonged until 1792 to the Batz family, known for the most famous of the Gascons: d'Artagnan.

Located in a wooded, hilly setting, Lac de Lacoste is the ideal place for leisure and relaxation for the whole family.

This stage offers a beautiful journey through the Bas Armagnac region, through a rural landscape featuring half-timbered houses, ancient oak groves, fields of maize and sunflowers, and the vineyards for which this region is renowned, with the Pyrenees mountain range as a backdrop. In wet weather, certain sections of the path through the vineyards can become very muddy and slippery.
