Baratier walks

Embrun is a town located in the heart of the Durance Valley. Rich in history, it is located not far from Lake Serre-Ponçon. There is a small lake next to it. Walking around it is a pleasant stroll, with views of the surrounding mountains, including Pic de Morgon and Mont Guillaume. It is a walk that can be enjoyed with young children.

In the foothills of Mont Guillaume, a short hike through the forest overlooking Puy-Sanières and Puy Saint-Eusébe, with a breathtaking view over Lac de Serre-Ponçon.

This is a beautiful walk with the aim of reaching the limestone massif of the Aiguilles de Chabrières, which offers a magnificent 360° panorama of the Embrunais, the Écrins massif and the Serre-Ponçon lake.

This circuit, created as part of the Fête de la Randonnée organised by the Hautes-Alpes Departmental Committee, is a pleasant route suitable for all ages. It offers breathtaking views of its large neighbour, the Serre-Ponçon Lake.

Site classified by decree on 9 January 1939. Facing the Pas-de-la-Tour ravine, in the heart of a magnificent mountain setting, this natural curiosity is clearly visible from the road at the bottom of the valley. These waterfalls are a popular spot for stopping to enjoy the view. They can also be explored from the village of Lauzet, along pleasant country trails.

This walk allows you to discover the Lac de Serre-Ponçon with some fairly wild sections. It also offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks.

A fun hike in the village of Saint-Vincent-les-Forts. Accessible to able-bodied people and without any particular difficulty. This hike is interesting for all ages, with numerous information panels as well as a few games and puzzles. Saint-Vincent-les-Forts is a popular spot for paragliders. It offers a spectacular view when conditions are favourable.

This is a short walk, the main purpose of which is to admire the surrounding mountains, including the Tête de Louis XVI. The village's municipal bread oven, still used by the villagers, bears witness to a time when Rioclar was isolated from the valley.

A beautiful climb to the mountain pastures and the three lakes of Col Bas through a beautiful forest of larch and Swiss pine trees. IMPORTANT: This hike crosses an area with wetlands that are rich in biodiversity but very fragile and subject to three levels of protection (APPB, ENS, Natura 2000). It is therefore important to preserve them by refraining from crossing them, particularly between Lac du Milieu and Lac Noir, where you must take care to follow the marked trail. Reminder: it is forbidden to light fires, swim in the lakes or camp near the wetlands. Dogs must be kept on a leash. In addition, a chairlift from Montclar arrives at Lac Noir, bringing dozens of walkers to the immediate vicinity of the lake. If you like peace and quiet, it is advisable to avoid the days when this chairlift is in operation. Une belle boucle dans les alpages du vallon de Réallon (Parc National des Écrins), avec des belles vues au milieu de la faune sauvage. Le panorama en hauteur donne sur le Sud des Écrins avec le Mourre Froid, les Aiguilles de Chabrières. Il s'agit d'une variante courte de la boucle, sans aller jusqu'au pic après le Col de la Gardette, et en "coupant" vers les Tomelles plutôt que de descendre jusqu'au torrent.

A relatively short and easy walk around the "Vauban" citadel of Mont-Dauphin. From the top of the circuit, there are fine views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, while the section along the river Guil offers a view not only of the Guil, but also of the Chalp canal waterfall. The walk can be followed by a stroll around the citadel.

A lovely walk in a green setting with little elevation gain on an easy trail (along the water) to do with the family, keeping a close eye on young children in the more exposed areas or on the ridge. Some sections offer superb views of Guillestre and beyond, then through the trees to the Guil Gorges.
