Departure point: Mélezet school.
(S/E) From the village centre, head towards the Mazelière Forest via the street of the same name. Leave the street on the right at the cemetery and continue to the circular crossroads (Les Léautiers).
(1) Leave Impasse Vernet, which branches off to the left, and continue along Route Forestière de la Grande Rocade. Cross the Essaleyte stream at Pont de la Mazelière (altitude 1,454 m).
(2) Climb to the right along the forest road to Cime de la Plate (signposted).
(3) Turn left to Cime de la Draye de Baïs (signpost). Ignore the first path on the right. Continue in the same direction to Pont de Roche Blanche (signpost). The route runs slightly above the old Baratier irrigation canal.
(4) Cross the stream and continue along the mountain path. Before crossing a stream, near a riding centre, ignore the paths that branch off to the left and take the mountain bike trail opposite to pass under the ranch. Continue in the same direction and pass to the left of a car park.
(5) Turn left at the next junction. Stay on the road, ignoring a path on the right 100 metres further on (near a tennis court), and continue for 300 metres to reach the start of a stream valley (Torrent du Guet). Altitude 1555 metres.
(6) Take the path furthest to the left around a sports complex on your right (swimming pool and tennis courts) to reach Impasse de l'Herminette.
(7) Turn left and take Impasse de l'Herminette to reach Route Départementale 40. After 120m, descend to the left at the side of the road, then take the second road on the left to reach the UCPA Centre in Les Orres. It is located below the D40 at the sign indicating the end of the built-up area.
(8) Go around the centre on the left (as close as possible to the buildings) and take a downhill path to reach Rue de la Mazelière at the end of Impasse Vernet. Return to the starting point via this street (S/E).
