Route des étangs starting from La Puye
The ponds route will allow you to stroll along the banks of two ponds in the commune of La Puye that are almost a thousand years old.During your walk, you’ll be able to see the water ram and view the Fontevrist monastery at La Puye from various angles; it is now the mother house of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross.

Chemin des Croix d’Availles
Start with some superb views over the Vienne Valley, continue past a few wayside crosses and 15th- and 18th-century castles, making sure to take a detour to see Chitré Castle, and finish the route by passing the famous “Lépine” oil mill and its press.

A pleasant walk that takes you past the Château des Groges and offers fine views of the castles of Chauvigny: the Château des Évêques, the Château d’Harcourt, the ruins of the Château de Montléon, the Donjon de Gouzon and the Tour de Flins.
Medieval town of Chauvigny
A stroll around the area and through Chauvigny, following the River Vienne to the church of Saint-Pierre-les-Églises, set slightly apart, which preserves frescoes dating from before the year 1000. We return to the medieval centre of the town, which overlooks the River Vienne, passing by its medieval towers, its castle and the12th-century Saint-Pierre Collegiate Church with its painted interior.
Le Breuil - Gibraltar to Chauvigny route
A pleasant little walk, mostly in the shade. But towards the end, the path is very open, so don’t forget a hat or cap in sunny weather!
The White Cross route and a ride on the rail bike in Chauvigny

Around Cenon-sur-Vienne
This route takes us along the ancient Roman road and introduces us to the remains of the Gallo-Roman site of Old Poitiers. Take the time to stop for a break in the magnificent Parc de la Grande Maison and, if time allows, take a trip on an electric boat.
Around Fleix
This route, starting from the charming little village of Fleix, will take you through the beautiful countryside near the town of Chauvigny, where the rail bike runs along the former railway line within the town. You’ll follow part of the old Roman road and will also be close to the Mareuil State Forest.
The Woods of Saint-Sauveur
Landscapes and shaded, undulating paths characterise this route. There are some beautiful viewpoints and natural sites, such as the remarkable oak tree.
Circular Baudiment in Naintré
Magnificent views of Moussais Castle and Colombiers Forest. This route has it all, from botany to built heritage, from the arboretum along the green corridor to the Beaumont Tower and the Madeleine Chapel. You'll be amazed!
Les Rabottes
A lovely, varied route under pleasant trees, interspersed with views of the countryside. Take the time to observe the local heritage. Coussay-les-Bois is unusual in that it has two churches a few metres apart, one of which has a twisted bell tower.
Between fields and forests from the Bois des Chênes Froids
A short route to explore outside the village centre with beautiful passages through the undergrowth and lovely panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The village of Coussay-les-Bois is notable for its bell tower, which you can see after your walk.
Industrial trail in Châtellerault
Starting from the former arms factory and a walk along the banks of the Vienne, passing along both the left and right banks and criss-crossing the railway tracks.
The Ligne Verte, from the railway to the greenways, towards Scorbé-Clairvaux
This lovely route winds its way through the countryside and follows sections of the Ligne Verte, a former railway line converted into a 37km path for pedestrians and cyclists, between Châtellerault and Loudun. It also takes you along some lovely sunken lanes and leads to the rich heritage of Scorbé-Clairvaux: the keep and chapel of Haut Clairvaux, the wash house, the old market halls, the castle which houses the chess museum (over 150 sets from 70 countries), and the old station.
