Leigné-les-Bois Pleasure Walk

Park near the town hall (hiking trail sign).

(S/E) Walk down Rue du Lavoir, leaving the cemetery on your left, and take the grassy path on the right through the fields. Continue straight on along this path until you reach the next junction.

(1) Leave the path on the right and carry on into the woods. At the end of the path, turn left and carry on to the next junction. Turn right onto a wider path towards La Ricatellerie at the crossroads.

(2) Turn left, follow the path to the D15 road. Cross the road and take the path into the woods. Continue along the path, pass under the high-voltage power line, then arrive at the Ribatoux farm.

(3) Follow the Ribatoux farmhouse on the left, leave the road behind and, a little further on, take the small path on the left. Head straight on along the hedge, between woods and fields, until you reach a pretty pond.

(4) Go round the pond by turning left and follow the field running alongside it. Continue along the path, pass under the high-voltage power line again and carry on along the path, which becomes more stony, until you reach a junction.

(5) Just before the hamlet of Vaux, turn right, amidst fields and woods. Carry on and, at the crossroads where four paths meet, turn left. Cross the streams and continue straight on, climbing up the path, which becomes more stony. At the top of the hill, leave the houses on your left and take the road on your right, running alongside the hamlet of Breuil. Beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area.

(6) Once past Breuil, stay on the road, ignoring the paths to the right and left, then turn right onto the^second path leading towards the Fontaine de Saint-Rémy.

(7) At the Fontaine Saint-Rémy, head down to the left and rejoin the road. When you reach the crossroads, turn left to return to the village centre and arrive near the unusual war memorial featuring a cockerel, not far from the town hall (S/E).
