Ardèche Gorges between the Saint-Marcel Cave and the Rapide de la Fève

The Maladrerie des Templiers in the Gorges de l'Ardèche
A very beautiful walk, partly along the river, leading to the exceptional site of La Maladrerie, situated opposite the Cirque de la Madeleine. Ruins of an ancient monastery, probably dating from the 12th century, with an uncertain origin. Fact or myth of the Knights Templar?
Follow the yellow markings on the ground carefully between (6) and (7), and avoid this route during periods of high water in the Ardèche. La Chartreuse de Valbonne Sud
Short loop starting from the Chartreuse de Valbonne through the Bois de Sagné and its oak trees.
La Chartreuse de Valbonne Nord
Short loop on the northern trails of La Chartreuse de Valbonne and return via part of the botanical trail.
Loop of the Chanet Dolmen and the Gourmier Bivouac
From the plateau to the river, this short and fairly easy route will also allow you to discover the vegetation of the gorges, notably the Phoenician juniper.
The elevation gain is at the end of the route, and the concrete track from the Gournier bivouac to the starting point is very steep. The route is well shaded.

Ardèche Gorges between the Gournier campsite and the Madeleine cirque
A very beautiful hike along the Ardèche Gorges, between the Bivouac du Gournier and the Cirque de la Madeleine, over magnificent limestone slabs and at the foot of the imposing cliff face bordering the gorges. Along the route, you’ll discover the huge rock known as the ‘Cathedral’, over 100 metres high, whose jagged shape resembles a cathedral.
Between the Bois du Sorbier and the Bois Redon
The hike takes place on tracks and single tracks in the undergrowth and sometimes on beautiful paved paths, sheltered from the wind as it is exposed on the southern slope of Bois Redon. The route is mostly shaded and passes through mainly oak forests.
Walk from Saint-Remèze to the Aurèle plain
Lavender and vine crops. Heaths and dry stone walls. Ruins of a former German military camp. An extremely easy walk, with no elevation gain, on good paths and small roads with no traffic.
Bois de Laoul, Ravin de Bardalène and Rimouren balcony trail
Here, there are no spectacular 360° panoramic views, but a very pleasant walk through the Bois de Laoul forest along wide, easy tracks as well as lovely, shaded, winding paths.The route takes you past ravines, a magnificent and wild balcony path overlooking the Gorges du Rimouren with its superb cliffs, and a mule track, with some beautiful views of the Rhône valley from Serre-Court.A walk best suited to winter.

The Gaud Discovery Trail
In the Ardèche Gorges, the Cirque de Gaud is home to a discovery trail dotted with information panels about the region's flora and fauna. At the Gaud campsite, you will find Gaud Castle and the Ardèche River.
The Serre de Barrès and Dent de Rez from Saint-Remèze
A beautiful hike typical of southern Ardèche, alternating between stony paths, sharp limestone pavement, rocks, trails, tracks and small roads, starting from the charming little village of Saint-Remèze, which was once fortified. The "castle", the Romanesque church, a few fountains and a wash house are some of the highlights of the visit.
Beautiful views of the Rocher de Sampzon, Mont Lozère, the Baronnies, Ventoux and Vercors.
A loop starting from Goudargues
Easy loop from the hamlet of La Bastide d'Orniols in the commune of Goudargues in the Gard. Heath, pine forest, chapels, drystone shelters, stone houses.

Circular loop above the Ardèche Gorges via the Tiourre Stream
The first part of this circular path descends into a forest of tall conifers, in the refreshing Tiourre Stream valley, known for its turquoise pools. The path then takes you along a balcony above the Ardèche Gorges road, offering views of one of the famous river’s meanders and its cliffs. The second section, which is more challenging, climbs above the hamlet of Châmes, mostly through woodland, with a more Mediterranean feel as you approach the Serre de la Desferre. A complete change of scenery guaranteed!
Recommendation: in the Tiourre valley, there are numerous unmarked trails and mobile network coverage is patchy. Remember to download the technical sheet or the GPX file before setting off.
