Leave the lodge (S) and cross the village, staying at the top, heading west and following the Way of the Cross to join theGR®58(signposted). Stay on theGR® heading west, then north-west, crossing the hamlet of Malrif.
(1) Continue in this direction to climb up to the Bertins hut.
(2) Begin a steep climb and follow a series of tight hairpin bends to reach the Grand Lac de Malrif, known as Le Grand Laus.
(3) Change direction completely, heading south to begin the descent. To do this, take theGR®58variant (theGR®58at the lake continues north to join the ridge below the Pic de Malrif). Continue the descent, ignoring all paths leading off to the right or left. You will reach the crossroads of the Lombard hamlet path.
(4) Then pass close to the Lombard sheepfold and then the hamlet of Les Eygliers.
(5) Reach the Chalet de la Pause to finally arrive at Aiguilles (E).
The route ends here. You just need to find a way to get back to your vehicle in Château Queyras, 8 km away. But hitchhiking works well here.
