Park at the hamlet of Le Roux.
(S/E) Walk through the hamlet towards a steep-sided valley, at the bottom of which a torrent flows. A gentle climb along a track suitable for vehicles.
(1) Just after the Saint-Antoine Chapel, keep to the left to continue along the main path through the valley.
Continue along this main path until you cross the Torrent du Col Saint-Martin, before tackling the steep climb up to the ruined hamlet of La Montette, where only the chapel has been restored.
(2) In front of the chapel, turn right towards the meadow, which you cross via a path that’s hard to make out amongst the grass. Follow this path to a bridge allowing you to cross the torrent again and return to the wooded side of the valley.
(3) Take the forest track on the left to head upstream along the valley. Cross a ford and reach a hairpin bend.
(4) Turn round and head back along the same route to the fork in the path where you can cross the stream.
(3) Leave the route you took on the way up and follow the forest track straight on. Shortly afterwards, ignore the path on the left leading to the Chapelle Saint-Joseph and continue straight on to descend the valley in the shade of the fir trees. Reach the junction for the Chapelle Saint-Antoine.
(1) Return to the path you took on the way up and continue to the left to return to Le Roux (S/E).
