The hills of Allauch offer constant points of interest. Hunters use paths that are covered by vegetation (be careful, it can be quite prickly...). The caves are enigmatic, particularly the Étoile cave (a very large tunnel). As usual, the view of Marseille from the Grande Tête Rouge is well worth the climb. The section crossing the stream bed is very pleasant and accessible. There are springs to discover all along the route.

The Siou Blanc massif is home to numerous karstic caves and caves. This hike will allow you to discover some of them, while enjoying the landscape via very pleasant trails.

A lovely hike with a big climb up the ridge of the valley. Return via the Vallon de Fontvieille (as it is known), where the lush vegetation makes you forget that you are in the Étoile massif.

This magnificent, challenging hike takes us up the Destel river with its truly unique potholes. This hike is classified as very difficult due to the passage through the gorges from (6) to (2) (a). Please note: the duration calculated by the software seems to be greatly underestimated (see reviews at the bottom of this page).

Reaching Lac du Fangeas via Dormillouse allows you to enjoy a beautiful hike while avoiding the busy trails.

The Titou Ninou viewpoint! You have to be a good walker to reach this little love nest. But once you're there, the view of the Riou and Plane islands is wonderful. You are in the Calanques National Park, which is subject to specific regulations. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in a fine of up to €1,500.

The ruins of Jas de Batisto are nothing extraordinary. However, they provide a destination for a short hike on a sunny afternoon. The view of the Passe Temps valley, Garlaban and Escaouprés is magnificent. The area is wild and, with a little luck, you may see partridges and hares.

This hike will allow you to discover a large part of the Garlaban massif. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful. The views from the peaks are superb. From the summit of Grande Tête Rouge, you can see all of Marseille from Callelongue to L'Estaque, and from Garlaban, the Gulf of La Ciotat and Cassis.

This hike takes you through the forest and vineyards. Along the way, you will discover the care and attention that winegrowers devote to their vines in order to produce the best wine possible. The icing on the cake is that you can visit the Auriol wine cellars and taste the wines produced from the vines you have just walked through.

La Parloire and La Barre Coupée – everything has been said about these two distinctive features of the Garlaban massif. Every time we pass through, we appreciate this superb landscape. There are several possible starting points for exploring this site. I suggest a route starting from Les Maurins, entirely on footpaths. It’s a hike that can easily be done in half a day. It could also serve as a basis for planning a longer hike in the future.

Discover Pointe Carchincu and Pointe Spano as you walk along the coast. There are plenty of opportunities to swim in crystal-clear waters in spectacular locations.

This is a lovely circular in the mountain pastures above Megève with superb forest passages and magnificent views of the Mont Blanc range on arrival at Rochebrune.

A lovely walk along the rugged coastline and past magnificent coves. It’s a must-see in Menorca. The lighthouse is situated at the very northern tip of the island.

For me, this hike is one of Menorca's must-dos. It crosses the s'Albufera des Grau Natural Park before joining the Cami de Cavalls (GR®223). The coastline and coves along the way to the Favaritx Lighthouse are magnificent. This is a round trip, so there is no need to go all the way to the lighthouse if you are tired, as you can see it in the distance from the coves.

If you’d like to enjoy a superb 360° panorama of Sainte-Baume, Cap Canaille and the Bay of Marseille, then I invite you to climb Mont Lantin and return via La Candolle, where you’ll have a magnificent view of Garlaban and the Massif de l’Étoile.

El Barranco del Infierno, the ravine of hell, named for its steep terrain, is located in the town of Adeje, in the south-west of Tenerife. It is a magnificent hike due to its vegetation and views of the coast.This hike is a round trip and there is a fee. However, it is well worth the investment of €15 per person.Although the number of people is limited on the site, it is still quite busy. The waterfall at the end of the hike is nothing special, but it is located in a superb setting.Important note: the elevation gain is 350 m, not 900 m as indicated on the information sheet.

Don Det Island is located in southern Laos, in the Phan Don or 4000 Islands region. Don Det is the most popular island, yet it exudes a sense of zen with its breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. The Mekong River surrounds these islands and offers superb views with monumental colours at sunset. You can tour the island by bicycle, but as a hiker, I prefer to explore at my own pace to better appreciate the panoramic views. Don Det Island is connected to Don Khon Island by the old French bridge.

If you are visiting Laos and staying in the middle of the "4000 Islands" on the Mekong, this short hike is for you. It allows you to appreciate the tranquillity and beauty of the area. It's magical. It is also possible to do this short route by bike, but walking allows you to enjoy the scenery more.

Old Genoa is a superb city that is an absolute must-see. It’s true that it’s easy to miss, as the motorway doesn’t pass through the city centre. However, if you’re on a cruise, the pier is located in the city centre, making it ideal for exploring on foot. You won’t regret the 8.5 km (minimum) walk, as this city is brimming with treasures of beauty.

The Cirque des Pételins is a sight of unparalleled beauty. It is a very little-used trail in the Calanques National Park of Marseille. A superb but demanding hike requiring sure-footedness, good physical fitness and the ability to use a GPS effectively in certain places where the path is harder to find. This hike is not circular; it requires a shuttle service between the Logisson car park and the Col de la Gineste car park.
