(S/E) From the winery car park, with your back to the road, head left and take the path heading due east at the edge of the car park. It is marked by two posts. Follow this path to the road and turn right.
(1) At the crossroads, take the Chemin des Lagets opposite. A short but pleasant walk along the tarmac road begins. It leads to a place called Les Lagets. As you walk, you will come across several dead-end paths on your left and/or right. Be careful as the road is used by local residents, but it is still pleasant.
(2) At the fork, keep to the right and turn right at a 90° angle onto the path just after.
(3) At the Lagets crossroads, turn right and continue eastwards.
(4) At the end of the paved section, turn onto the track that branches off to the left to begin the Gastaude circular route: you will pass this crossroads again on the way back.
You are now in agricultural areas planted with vines and other crops. This means that there will be farm tracks leading to the fields.
A few metres after the start of the track, turn right. Continue along the main track until you reach the Gastaude stream.
(5) Turn left towards the hamlet of La Gastaude, which you can see ahead. To do this, turn right between the vineyards about a hundred metres further on and continue to the houses. It's worth the detour.
(6) Turn back in the opposite direction to return to the stream.
(5) Leave the path you took on the way there on your right and continue straight ahead on the track. Atthe first crossroads, go straight ahead and after a few dozen metres, you will come to a path that branches off to the right.
Continue along this path.
(7) Turn right onto the path to reach the start of the Gastaude circular loop.
(4) Turn left. After about 150 metres, turn onto the path that branches off to the right and follow it straight ahead until you reach the cistern at a crossroads. You will have a view of the place called Les Héliantes.
(8) This is where the Encanaux circular loop begins. Leave the path on your right (this will be the return route) and take the track opposite.
At thefirst fork, continue along the track, ignoring the path on your right, which will be your return route.
(9) Continue straight ahead on the track, ignoring the one that branches off to your left, and head for the Pont des Encanaux bridge.
(10) This is the start of a circular path to the ice house: cross the bridge and take the path that branches off to the left to reach the Glacière des Encanaux. The path is easy to spot, so you won't have any trouble finding your way.
(11) Discover this magnificent ice house and learn about how it was used in the past. The Vède stream that you can see fed this ice house. Continue north to reach a cross path and turn right. After the big right-hand bend, keep to the left to stay as close as possible to the stream and continue to the Pont des Encanaux bridge.
(10) End of the "Glacière" circular loop. On the way, you can test your physical fitness using the equipment on the fitness trail.
On the other side of the bridge, leave the track you arrived on and take the superb path through the woods that branches off to the left and runs more or less parallel to it. Return to the start of the Encanaux circular loop.
(8) Take the tarmac road on your left to reach the Maison du Légionnaire. You will enter a residential area with several roads branching off to the right and left; continue straight ahead.
(12) At the crossroads, turn left. Cross the Route de la Sainte-Baume and continue along the path opposite.
The Ruisseau de la Vède stream is on your right.
Continue along Chemin Saint-Francet, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left which lead to houses. Continue until you reach the junction with Chemin de la Magdeleine.
(13) Turn right. Continue along this path until you reach Chemin de la Barrière.
(14) Turn left and continue along the path until you reach the D560. Turn right, go around the roundabout on the right and then immediately take the road on the right to avoid going along the D560. You are now on the D45A, Route de la Sainte-Baume, for about 300 metres. Look out for the path on the left before the water treatment plant.
(15) Leave the D45A and take the path that leads directly back to the Cave Vinicole car park (S/E).
