Description of the walk

(S/E) From the car park at Pas de Peyruis, leave the D480 road and take the track leading off to your left; you will see the gate. Continue until you reach the circular path, then leave the track and take the path leading off to the left.

(1) Follow this path until you reach a junction of tracks and paths.

(2) Turn onto the path that winds sharply to the right. Follow the Ruisseau de Peyruis (often dry) until you reach the D480 road. Cross it carefully to join a track on the opposite side.

(3) Join the path that branches off to the left. Continue along this path, which still runs alongside the Ruisseau de Peyruis and runs parallel to the Route de la Sainte-Beaume. When you reach a junction of road and track, continue for a few dozen metres along the road.

(4) Join the path leading off to the right. Continue along this path, which still runs alongside the stream, with the road nearby; you will need to cross it carefully at the next junction.

(5) Take the track branching off to the left and follow it to the springs (this is also the point where you’ll return from the springs).

(6) Visit the springs and rejoin the path that follows the Ruisseau de Peyruis, which will be on your right. Follow the path to the junction you passed on the way out.

(5) Cross the D480 carefully, take the path opposite heading north-east and continue to a junction.

(7) Turn right. From there, continue until you reach a gate with a bell to announce your arrival.

(8) If you have booked in advance, someone will come to meet you to open the Chapel of Notre-Dame d’Orgnon and begin the tour.

(9) Once the tour is over, retrace your steps to leave the estate until you reach the junction you passed on the way there.

(8) Carry on to the right for about a hundred metres until you reach another fork in the path.

(10) Cross the stream and carry on straight ahead along the main path. Here we go for a lovely little climb that will take you through the Chambeyron forest. Continue along the path until you come to a narrower, more comfortable and pleasant track that branches off the main path in a circular route.

(11) Follow it straight ahead, heading south-east.

(12) Carry on straight ahead until you reach the D480 road.

(13) Walk a few metres to the left along the tarmac road, then look out for the small footpath branching off to the right, which shortens the tarmac section. The car park is in sight.

(1) Turn left and head back to the Pas de Peyruis car park (S/E).
