Guirbaden is a ruined castle built on the Mollberg hill above Mollkirch. Its ruins are considered the most important in Alsace.

A beautiful hike around the three castles (Bernstein, Ramstein and Ortenbourg) via the Brischbach valley and its magnificent views.

Route allowing you to visit the three castles of Ribeauvillé (Giersberg Castle, Saint-Ulrich Castle and Ribeaupierre Castle) with superb views over the Alsace plain. Then climb and cross the Taennchel Massif with its rocks, its pagan wall and its views of Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle.

This is a short, easy hike along cycle paths, roads, field tracks and forest paths. Views of the Vosges mountains and Mont Sainte-Odile. Please note that the path is quite muddy in the Plon forest.

Circuit for visiting Scharrach Hill, combining cycle paths and vineyard trails. Visit the ruins of the blockhouse at the highest point of Scharrach. Numerous viewpoints over the vineyards, the Vosges mountains and the neighbouring villages. Distant view of Strasbourg and its cathedral (for those with good eyesight).

Short loop on the heights of Marlenheim around Stephansberg, passing through Wasselonne. Views of Marlenheim, Scharrach and Wasselonne. Passage through Les Roches near Altenberg, where there are opportunities for rock climbing.

A beautiful, easy walk in the Grand Ried in Rhinau, between fields and forest near the Rhine, surrounded by springs and streams with exceptionally clear water and blockhouses. Suitable for children.

A route through the Taubergiessen National Nature Reserve, in the German part of Rhinau, along the Old Rhine with views of Rhinau Island and a short detour to Europa-Park (Rust). This is a thousand-hectare nature reserve owned by the French commune of Rhinau on German territory (650 ha of forest and 350 ha of meadows or fields). I was lucky enough to spot roe deer, swans and herons.

A lovely little walk in the Northern Vosges forest connecting Zittersheim to Wingen-sur-Moder. I fell in love with the forests of the Northern Vosges.

A lovely, easy walk with many breathtaking views of the Bruche Valley, the Donon, the Wisches quarry, the Alsace plain and the Château du Guirabden. This is a simple circuit in terms of length and elevation, with a mix of forest paths and trails through either forest or pastureland.

A beautiful hike with stunning views of all the surrounding valleys: the Bruche Valley, Donon, Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, Val de Villé, Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines, Haut-Koenigsbourg, etc. It is quite difficult due to its length, elevation gain and rough terrain (narrow paths on the edge of the void or muddy forest paths).

Route with beautiful views of the Bruche valley and the Trapp quarry (Wisches), which revisits the darkest history of our time, from Schirmeck to Struthof.

A long hike around the third highest peak in the Vosges mountains and the highest in the Vosges department, following six lakes. The route offers beautiful views and all types of terrain (paths, roads, trails, forest, clearings, alpine pastures, etc.). This is a very difficult hike for experienced hikers only (length, duration and significant elevation gain). Not to be attempted in winter; best done in late spring, summer or early autumn.

A short, unpretentious route passing by the ruins of the Grand and Petit Ringelstein castles. Small viewpoint of the valley at Grand Ringelstein Castle. Route circuit, but steep in places.

This is a hike in the Ried region, consisting of two circular routes in one. The Lutter Route (Green Ring) and the Ill Route (Blue Ring). You can do both circular routes or just one of them. It is fairly easy as there are no steep slopes. The route starts at the Benfeld lake and then crosses forests and fields, following the Lutter, Muhlbach and Ill rivers along forest paths and trails (very little tarmac).

Hike that goes around Grendelbruch on its southern side. Passes through several mountain passes and offers magnificent views at Schelmeck and Falkenstein peak. A little bit of tarmac at the start (crossing Grendelbruch) then a mix of forest paths, trails through woods and meadows.

This hike takes you to Lutzelbourg Castle with its view of the village of Lutzelbourg and its "Canal de la Marne au Rhin". A mixture of forest paths, trails through the woods and across fields. There is a little tarmac, however, for crossing the villages.

Short hike connecting Lac de Longemer and Lac de Lispach through the forest.

This trail takes you to rocks and castles with magnificent, unobstructed views of the valley and Obersteinbach. You can visit the Bohemian Rock or "Tziganes", Wasigenstein Castle, Petit Arnsberg Castle and Wachtfels Rock with its breathtaking view. There is a short stretch of tarmac at the start and end of the hike. This is a fairly easy hike, but I have rated it as moderately difficult due to its length.
