Departure from the intersection between Rue Klée and Rue de Bergheim in Ribeauvillé. Park in one of these two streets.
(S/E) Take Chemin d'Osterbergweg (Yellow Triangle) which climbs towards the vineyards (north).
(1) Turn left at thefirst road, Chemin Wartweg (yellow triangle, heading west; the châteaux are already in sight). Continue along the path through the vineyards until you reach the junction at cote 360. Leave the yellow triangle marked path and turn left.
(2) At the fork that immediately appears, turn right and continue along the vineyard path until the next intersection heading north-west.
(3) Cross the Lutzelbach stream and follow the forest path uphill to the right (north). Continue along the forest path to the Lutzelbach fountain.
(4) Leave the forest path and turn left towards the three castles on the Croix Jaune trail. Ignore the paths on the right (red-white-red triangle or rectangle) and stay on the Croix Jaune trail to the right until you reach Giersberg Castle (you can visit the ruins).
(5) Take the Croix Jaune trail again and continue for 150 metres until you reach Château de Saint-Ulrich.
(6) At Château de Saint-Ulrich (ruins open to visitors), continue towards Château de Ribeaupierre. A redGR®5Rectangle trail leads directly there via a very steep slope. It is better to take the second option, the Yellow Cross then the red-white-red Rectangle on the right, which climbs up around the east side.
(7) At the crossroads, turn right towards Ribeaupierre Castle via the red rectangle (south-south-east).
(8) Retrace your steps to the previous intersection.
(7) Continue straight ahead (north-west, red rectangle with white stripe) towards the Taennchel massif. At the junction with a forest path, continue left towards Cerisier Noir.
(9) At Le Cerisier Noir, continue west towards the Abri du Hasenclever on the left via the Anneau Rouge forest path.
(10) When you reach the Abri du Hasenclever, change direction, take the path on the right (red ring heading north) and then, after about 100 metres, take the path on the left. Further on, leave the yellow triangle path in front of you and, on the left in a hairpin bend, continue following the red ring.
(11) At the Rocher de la Paix d'Udine (viewpoint), continue to follow the Anneau Rouge along the ridge and the Mur Païen. Further on, take the Anneau Jaune trail on the right towards the Rocher Pointu and the Rocher des Titans.
(12) At the Pointed Rock, continue along the Yellow Ring trail towards the north-west.
(13) Turn left for a few metres to see the Titans' Rock. Retrace your steps and continue along the trail (Yellow Ring heading north-west).
(14) At Rocher des Géants, continue along the trail (yellow rectangleGR®532heading west).
(15) Turn right for a few metres to see the Rocher des Reptiles. Retrace your steps and continue along the path (yellow rectangleGR®532heading west).
(16) At Abri Kutzigbuech, continue along the trail (yellow rectangleGR®532heading west).
(17) At Roche des Trois Tables, leave the Yellow Rectangle trail and take the Blue Cross trail heading south, which descends into the forest towards the Schelmenkopf Refuge.
(18) Continue along the path to the bottom of the valley (Blue Cross heading east then south-east).
(19) At an intersection, follow the Yellow Cross from the Hôtel de la Pépinière. Walk up the road for a few dozen metres to the bridge heading west.
(20) Cross the bridge over the Strengbach stream and follow the Yellow Cross trail eastwards, along the stream to Ribeauvillé.
(21) When you reach Ribeauvillé (first houses), continue straight along the road and turn left onto Rue du 3 Décembre towards the town centre to the north-west (Grand'rue). Then turn right at the roundabout towards the town centre to the east.
(22) After 250 metres, turn left, take the Jeannelle passage a few dozen metres to the north-east (small cobbled path), keep left in front of the school, then turn right at the intersection with the road (Chemin du Lutzelbach) towards the south-east.
(23) Turn left after the fountain (opposite no. 15) to reach the vineyards heading north and follow the wine trail to the intersection you took on the way there.
(2) Continue straight ahead and, after about 100 metres, turn right downhill.
(1) Turn right and return to the starting point (S/E).
