Parking is available in the car park behind the church in Forges-les-Bains, along Rue de l'Eglise. Forges-les-Bains is located 5 km south-east of Limours and around 12 km south-west of Marcoussis.
In addition to the signposts, there are also numbered markers from the Communauté de Communes du Pays de Limours, which are referred to in the description below.
Yellow signposts
(S/E) Follow Rue de l'Église eastwards. At the first crossroads, turn left towards Ardillières. At the next fork, turn left onto Rue de la Biche Frette.
(1) At the next roundabout, continue along the same street, slightly to the right. Leave the village and continue along the road. Pass marker no. 68 "Moque-Bouteille" and reach the D152, marker no. 67 "La Biche Frette". Cross the road and take the path opposite. This path turns left and leads to a small street.
(2) Take this street on the right and reach a triangular square (marker no. 66). Continue straight ahead, take Rue de la Fontaine and pass a wash house. Take a footbridge to cross a stream. Take a path through the woods with a fence on your right.
(3) At the first crossroads (marker no. 65, "Bois Chaperon"), turn right. After a barrier, take a street (Chemin des Aulnettes) and ignore the streets on the right. At the crossroads, go straight ahead, turning slightly to the right, towards the electricity substation.
(4) At the next crossroads (water pump, information sign), continue straight ahead on Chemin des Aulnettes, which climbs slightly. Ignore the perpendicular streets, including Chemin Derrière les Murs, marked in yellow, and reach Place du Poutil where the church of Briis-sous-Forges stands. Go around the church on the right (information sign) and you will find yourself in front of the Anne Boleyn Tower (information sign).
(5) Turn right onto Rue Saint-Denis. At the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue de l'Armée Patton. At the next crossroads, continue in the same direction towards Angervilliers. Before leaving the village, note the Fontaine Verdureau fountain on your left (information sign). Continue along Rue Charles Godin, which turns right. Ignore the path leading left towards Moulin de Moque-Souris and cross a stream. Cross the D97 (take care).
(6) Immediately after crossing the D97, take the path on the left. This path is separated from the road by a central reservation. When you reach the houses, continue straight ahead (south) on thePR®15(ignore another yellow sign indicating a right turn).
(7) Go through the tunnel under the A10 motorway and then the tunnel under the TGV Atlantique railway line. Pass the water treatment plant and a reed bed, and cross the Ruisseau de Prédecelle stream. The path then becomes a small paved road, which turns right with the bell tower of the church of Vaugrigneuse slightly to the right. Come out onto the D131 (marker no. 51) and follow it to the right. Reach the church of Vaugrigneuse.
Red and white signposts
(8) Continue along the road through the village (ignore the red and yellow arrow pointing left) and note a manor house on the right. Cross the stream again. Just after a wooden-framed shed, turn left towards Orme Gras. Ignore the side streets and paths. After crossing the stream once more, turn right, heading south, onto Rue de Prédecelle. At the end (marker no. 50, beautiful view of the Gloriette farm on the left), turn right.
(9) At marker no. 49 "Launay-Courson", cross the river and continue straight ahead on Rue de la Gloriette (ignore a red and yellow arrow indicating a left turn). At the next junction, turn left. Then, at a T-junction (with a post box in the middle), turn right. You will reach a roundabout at the exit of Vaugrigneuse.
(10) Cross the roundabout and take the path opposite that runs between a fenced meadow (on your left) and a cultivated field (on your right). Head west and ignore the path that branches off to the left towards the horse farm. At the crossroads, before the high-voltage power lines, turn left at a 90° angle. Walk south-south-east between meadows, ignore a path leading off to the right and you will come to a street.
(11) Turn sharply right into the street. At the end, at a fork, take the left path. Climb slightly into the woods. Then, heading generally south-west, walk between fields and meadows, ignoring the paths on either side, pass under the high-voltage power lines and reach the horse breeding buildings at Les Bruyères.
(12) Then turn right and pass a "camping rural" (rural campsite) and a show jumping arena. Walk north between the cultivated plots. At a crossroads (hut on the right), turn left and you will come to a street at the entrance to Machery.
(13) Follow this street, which soon curves to the left. Continue straight ahead until you reach a small triangular square (with a wash house on the left). Turn right onto Rue du Lavoir and continue to a larger road. Make a zigzag left-right turn, take Rue du Bois d'Ardeau towards Limours. Continue to a crossroads where a sign indicates Bois d'Ardeau, in the commune of Forges-les-Bains (marker no. 80-2 "Les Grands Réages").
(14) Continue along the road opposite, passing under the TGV Atlantique railway line and then under the A10 motorway. At the end of the tunnel, at a crossroads (marker no. 80-1), go straight ahead (ignore the arrow on the right towards Forges-les-Bains).
(15) At the sign for "Rue de la Gronnière" (marker no. 80-33), turn right onto the path between the fences and gardens. The path then enters the woods. At the first crossroads (marker no. 80-34 "La Patte du Loup"), turn right along the fence. At the next intersection (marker no. 81, "Châtaigneraie"), turn left. The path climbs slightly and becomes steep. At the next marker (no. 82), continue straight ahead towards Limours (ignore the arrow pointing to Forges-les-Bains, which would take you back the way you came).
(16) At the T-junction (marker no. 83, "La Gronnière"), turn right at a 90° angle. Walk along the edge of the woods (on your right) and fields (on your left). At a T-junction (marker no. 75, "La Cépée de Peuples"), with a cluster of birch trees opposite, turn left. Ignore the path that branches off to the right, enter the woods, heading north-northeast, and climb slightly. Pass marker no. 74 "Le Guichet" and walk along the edge of the woods (on your left) and the field (on your right).
(17) At marker no. 73, turn left. Pass marker no. 72 "La Butte Rouge". At the next crossroads (marker no. 71 "La Butte Rouge" also), turn right (north-east) onto the path that descends (note the view of the church in Forges-les-Bains).
Continue along Rue des Richards and pass the château of Forges-les-Bains (marker post no. 70). Continue in the same direction, noting a wash house on the left, and reach the D97 at the foot of the church. Go up the street opposite (pharmacy on the right-hand pavement) and you will immediately return to the starting point (S/E).
