Third stage of the GRAVEL or mountain bike route based on the walking trail "In the Footsteps of the Master Bell Ringers between Berry and Bourbonnais".

A hike along the paths, but also through the history of human achievements. From the Roman bridge at Courtioux to the wind turbines at Savernat, you will travel through nine centuries. You can also admire two sunken lanes characteristic of the Bourbonnais bocage. If you are observant, you will see the tracks of our ancestors' iron-wheeled carts and wagons engraved in the granite of the lane leading down from La Chaux. Another return to our heritage.

A journey through the centuries: history, legends and mysteries await you. At the foot of the village tower, strange fields of stones spread out and serve as hiding places for fairies and elves.

This short hike will take you from the Quinssaines plateau to the village of Font Claude. Magnificent views of the towns of Montluçon, Huriel and Domérat. On the way back to the starting point, you will pass one of the last working vineyards in the region at Peuroir.

This route is particularly well suited to Nordic walking. The asphalt sections are kept to a minimum and the quality of the surface on the tracks allows for movements that make the exercise very interesting. In addition, this hike is suitable in all seasons. The route is of course also suitable for classic hiking.

Beautiful hike starting from the municipal lake in Clugnat, along a small country road running alongside the Verraux river and lined with majestic beech trees. In Poussange (420 m above sea level), there is a lovely viewpoint over the surrounding countryside and Clugnat. The walk follows a path through fields and woodland. The return journey crosses a wooden bridge over the river.

Superb hike around Lake Sidiailles on the border between Cher and Allier. You can combine this hike with the tree-top adventure course at the Nature Aventure du Lac de Sidiailles activity centre.

A walk to discover the Cher and La Tarde rivers. Suitable for families on foot or by mountain bike, and some points can even be reached directly by car.

A family walk around this lake, which is classified as a National Nature Reserve.

This short hike also gives you the opportunity to discover the charming village of Chambon-sur-Voueize. The walk can be done as a circular route, but only the first half runs along the Voueize gorges. For once, I vote for a return trip to enjoy the scenery along the banks twice.

The steep slopes protect the site and its wild appearance, home to a variety of fauna and rich flora. In the past, the gorges were the lifeline of the commune. The paths led to the sunny slopes devoted to vineyards and served flour and hemp mills.

This route allows you to discover the old part of the village of Culan. On a clear day, you can see not only the château but also the surrounding countryside from the viaduct. A short route to discover throughout the seasons...

Along a narrow goat track lined with boxwood forest, this circuit takes you through a wild landscape of gorges, where memories of a pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary remain on the banks of the Chat-Cros.
