Description of the route

(S) From the campsite, head towards the church in Préveranges, turn right onto the road towards Saint-Marien, pass a stopover lodge and then, 100 m further on, turn right onto Rue Saint-Martin and follow it for about 200 m.

(1) Leave Préveranges, take a path on the left, then carefully follow the road to Saint-Marien on the right and continue for about 250 m.

(2) Take the first path on the right leading to the hamlet of Betoux.

(3) After a few houses, just after a bridge over the Joyeuse, take a path on the left. Cross the Joyeuse again and climb a hill; head towards a pond. Turn right, following the pond, and continue along the path. Pass a house with an old well and carry on straight ahead until you reach a bend.

(4) Take a path on the left; it climbs for about 400 m then turns sharply right to join a tarmac road. Pass under a railway bridge on the left. Head towards Le Magnoux.

(5) Cross the hamlet of Le Magnoux heading west. At the top of a hill, turn left and reach a crossroads where a water tower stands (alt. 504 m), the highest point in the Cher department and the Centre region. Continue a few metres along the D203 to the right to move away from the water tower.

(6) Leave it immediately by taking the road on the left, follow the chestnut woods and take thefirst road on the right, heading down to Beddes and the source of the Indre on your right.

(7) At the source of the Indre, take the path on the left which climbs through and then along the edge of the woods. Take the first small road on the left. Follow this road to Chez Jabier. Cross the D3E with care and take the road opposite. This road continues as a long, descending path.

(8) Turn right onto a grassy path for about 100 m and take an uphill path leading to the D3E road. Take this road to the left, taking care, to reach Saint-Priest-la-Marche.

(9) Turn left at the church and walk down to the stream (Indre) and cross it. Walk back up the grassy path opposite to the stadium, then take the road on the left. Reach the hamlet of La Lande.

(10) Take a street on the left and, 100 m further on, turn right. At a junction, continue straight ahead: the road continues as a path opposite. About 300 m further on, you reach the boundary between the Cher and Indre departments. At the departmental boundary, continue straight ahead then turn left at the next junction. Take a small road towards Pointe Mazière heading west for about 300 m. Turn right onto a path lined with chestnut trees that runs alongside a small wood and leads to a track; take this on the left.

(11) Turn left again onto a small road that passes between two ponds. Pass through the hamlets of La Saigne and Pointe Mazière. Once past the last houses in Pointe Mazière, turn right. The road descends the slope (grade of 20%). Climb back up to Chez Piot, stay on the main road to the left and go past a sports ground on the right. Turn left to descend into the centre of Pérassay (380 m).

(12) Leave Pérassay via the D71, then after 600 m take the small road leading downhill to the right. When you reach the old mill, turn right before the footbridge (private footbridge) and cross the Indre. Head up the grassy path opposite, then take the first path on the left.
