Departure from the Herbouilly Nordic Area above Saint-Martin-en-Vercors.
Snowshoe trail no. 9.
(S/E) From the Poteau Porte d'Herbouilly (altitude 1,280 m), head to the cross-country ski centre and take the trail behind it into the forest for 1.5 km (slight incline).
(1) Still following the trail, turn left at a right angle towards the ridges (due east) and climb gradually to the Dodos crossroads (altitude 1,305 m).
(2) Continue straight ahead towards the ridges. As you approach the ridge line, take the steeper slope.
(3) Carefully follow the markings southwards to reach the "panorama". Unobstructed view of the Vercors high plateaus and the surrounding mountains.
(4) Continue downhill (south-west then west, through forest, undergrowth and clearings. The route crosses several tracks and paths (north-west). Make sure you stay on the specific snowshoe trail. At the end of the descent, join a wide track at the Nœud de Parcelles crossroads (altitude 1,240 m).
(5) Turn right, heading north-east to return to the junction on the way out.
(1) Take the same route as on the way up, continuing to follow the specific snowshoe markings until you reach the starting point at Porte d'Herbouilly (altitude 1,280 m) (S/E).
