(1) Take the path or track to reach the junction at the Refuge de la Blanche in the mountain pastures.
(2) Turn right onto the path towards Col Blanchet, leaving the path to the lake and the refuge on your left. You will soon come to a four-way junction
(3) Carry on straight ahead to reach the Lower Blanchet Lake.
(4) Stop at this lake (and, if you wish, take a return trip to Lac Supérieur via the path on the left).
Then complete the ascent to Col Blanchet.
(5) Head south onto the Italian side into a large grassy valley with a view of Lac Bleu. Reach the crossroads by this lake.

(3) Continue northwards to reach the refuge and Lac de la Blanche.
(10) Behind the refuge’s toilets, take the signposted ‘Grand Canal’ path towards the chapel and Saint-Véran. Reach the confluence of the streams (the Blanche and the Rafanel).
