Tour of the Göscheneralpsee via Damahütte

The car park at the start of the route is pay-and-display (take a ticket at the barrier); it is often full before you reach the hotel, so it is best to carry on and park in the car park below the hotel. The payment booth is located next to the ‘toilets’ building where the post bus parks.

For overnight stays, visit the Dammahütte website to book accommodation and, if required, evening meals and breakfast, and to check the opening periods (usually from July to the end of September).

Like any high-mountain hike in Switzerland, the route is very well signposted with red-white-red markings.
This route is suitable for experienced walkers. Check the weather forecast beforehand as conditions can change quickly above the lake (fog rolls in quickly in the evening, but mornings are often very sunny).

Additional loops can be made to the Kehlenalphütte and Bergseehütte huts, but you will need to allow at least one extra day and check with the hut wardens for the (very difficult) routes to follow.
