This route, from Gottardo Passo to Andermatt, is part of the Via Suworow (No. 55) as well as the Trans Swiss Trail (No. 2) and the Via Gottardo (No. 7)
The starting point for this stage is at the Ospizio San Gottardo.

(S) From the Ospizio San Gottardo, head north-west, walk along the Lago della Piazza, then the Laghi Scuro, taking the old paved road to a path that starts at a sign marked No. 55 - 2 - 7.
(1) Follow this path until you reach a passage under the main road of the St Gotthard Pass.
(2) Descend alongside the Gotthardreuss, one of the sources of the Reuss river. You will find signpost No. 55 - 2 - 7 at a secondary road.
(3) Continue downhill into the Gotthardreuss valley until you reach signpost No. 55 - 2 - 7, near the Gotthard Pass road. Here you leave the canton of Ticino and enter the canton of Uri.
(4) Follow the Via Gottardo/Trans Swiss Trail, walking alongside the Gotthardreuss as it widens, and continue downhill to the entrance to the village of Hospental.
(5) At the roundabout, cross the pass road with caution, enter the village and cross it via the main street (Gotthardstrasse) until you reach the Gotthardreuss river again.
(6) Heading north, stay on the left bank of the Gotthardreuss, cross it one last time and reach Hospental station.
(7) Cross the railway line and the Reuss river just after the confluence of the Gotthardreuss and Furkareuss rivers.
(8) Turn right to follow the Reuss on its left bank. After going around the Andermatt golf course, return to the banks of the Reuss.
(9) Follow the Reuss, pass the golf course car park and return to a bridge at the entrance to Andermatt.
(10) Cross the Reuss, head to Andermatt following Bazweg, then Bahnhofstrasse, Kirchegasse and finally Gotthardstrasse to arrive at The River House hotel, your accommodation for the night (E).
