Sillé-le-Guillaume, a Petite Cité de Caractère® located 35 km north-west of Le Mans, is a former stronghold of the Haut-Maine region on the border between Normandy and Brittany. It developed around its castle and collegiate church. It became famous in the20th century for its ‘Coco Plage’ leisure and swimming centre. This walk will allow you to explore the Sillé State Forest and its lakes. Extend your outing with a visit to the town and its castle.

The Grande Charnie Forest
From Torcé-Viviers-en-Charnie, follow the lush green paths through the Mayenne countryside and gently make your way into the Charnie Forest. You’ll enjoy a view of the forest from its highest point and be transported back centuries as you come across the megaliths along the route.
Tour de Viviers
This route will take you to the edge of the Grande Charnie and allow you to explore the sunken paths of Torcé-Viviers-en-Charnie.
