La Cense Saint-Paul was a very old farm. The word ‘Cense’ comes from the Latin ‘censa’, meaning rent. In Lucien Geindre’s history of Liverdun, we learn that this farm had a large dovecote containing 857 nests!La Cense Saint-Paul appears on Cassini’s map, but it seems to have disappeared after the Revolution. Until a few years ago, the remains of an old cellar were still visible.
