Start from the Fohrenbuck hikers’ car park (45 spaces). Access via the small road on the right just after the A98 junction, exit 4 Kandern, towards Rümmingen. Head up the Hohe Strasse to the edge of the forest.
(S/E) Go to the far end of the car park and continue along the steeply descending path. You’ll reach the junction with the Binzerweg.
(1) Cross Binzerweg and continue along Moosweg. Cross Niklausgrabenweg. Beautiful views of the Alsatian villages of the Sundgau and the Rhine plain.
(2) At the junction, turn right twice and follow the Rüttenmattweg.
(3) At the junction, follow the Vierzigstholtzweg to the left and continue to the end of the path.
(4) At the junction, follow the Binzer Almendweg to the right and turn right again 150 metres further on.
(5) Follow the Binzeralmendweg to the right (ignore the Lettemstellenweg which branches off to the left).
(6) Follow the Binzerweg to the right.
(7) Cross the Niklausgrabenweg and continue straight on.
(1) Turn left and you’ll soon reach the car park (S/E).
