Parking above Obertüllingen (Lindenplatz) at the foot of the large antenna on Hoheweg.
(S/E) Facing the antenna, turn left, leave the Hindenburg Monument on your right and continue on the road that goes to the left, marked with a yellow diamond sign "Tüllinger weg, Ötlingen". The path continues along the edge of the forest and leads to a clearing near a "no horses" sign.
(1) Take the path on the right. At the edge of the forest, continue for about 300 m until you reach a T-junction.
(2) At the wooden sign for "Tüllingen, Ötlingen", turn right and continue for about 100 m. Before reaching the forest, turn left and continue along the edge of the vineyard until you reach the first path on the right.
(3) Do not enter the vineyards, turn right for about 200 m. The path turns to the left, ignore the one that continues to the right and arrive at a tarmac road.
(4) Keep to the far right on the tarmac road that turns left, shortly after leaving the woods. You will see a telecoms tower ahead, which you will see again on the way back. Continue to a crossroads.
(5) Take the path on the left between the trees, which makes a sharp turn to the right. Ignore thefirst path on the left and thesecond on the right and continue for about 300 m until you reach a crossroads.
(6) Turn left and, at the next intersection, turn right and walk along the woods until you reach the junction with a road that branches off to the right.
(7) Leave this road (this is the return route), continue straight ahead and stay on the tarmac road that descends towards "Burg Rötteln", marked with a red diamond. Pass a car park on your left. Immediately after, cross the crossroads and continue along the edge of the road and then between the fields until you reach the next crossroads.
(8) Leave the red diamond markings and continue straight ahead on the tarmac road that runs alongside the main road down towards Lörrach for about 400 m. This road turns left at a white sign for cyclists with green lettering saying Kandern, Rümmingen.
(9) Turn left and cross the road, then go under the motorway tunnel towards Kandern, Rümmingen (cycling sign).
(10) After the tunnel, turn right towards Burg Rötteln, Kandern, following the yellow diamond markings. Stay on the tarmac road which goes up and down. You will see a pretty little chalet.
(11) Continue straight ahead, climbing towards Burg Rötteln, and shortly afterwards you will come to a fork in the road.
(12) Turn left, following the red diamond signs, between the gardens. At the end of the path that descends to the right, join a track.
(13) Head left with the castle in front of you. When you reach the car park, leave the Westweg entrance on your left and take the right-hand bend in the tarmac road towards the castle entrance, which is at the next left-hand bend.
(14) Enter the castle grounds (red diamond). Walk up the inner courtyard to the visitor entrance (allow a good hour to visit the entire site).
(15) Continue uphill to reach a small clearing (barbecue facilities available).
(16) Follow the path for 300 m, climbing to the left until you reach a fork in a wide bend.
(17) Leave the red diamond and follow the yellow diamond (signposted Nikolausgraben 0.2 km), continue straight ahead to reach a good path (Hohe Strasse) and turn left towards Fohrenbuck, Tumringen (yellow diamond).
Keep heading south-west through the forest. The path becomes a tarmac road again as it leaves the forest. Pass under a high-voltage line and you will come to a T-junction. Turn right to reach a car park, cross it to the left and you will come to the motorway access roads.
(18) From here: be careful, there is a lot of traffic. Cross the access roads, go over the motorway bridge and cross the roads towards Lörrach, continuing straight ahead (road to Ötlingen).
(19) Continue straight ahead through the grass on the left-hand side of the road. At the drain cover at the edge of the pavement, a path leads up into the woods and emerges next to a water tower on the tarmac road you saw on the way there.
This path is not very visible, poorly maintained and cluttered with branches. If it is too difficult, once you have crossed the road, turn left onto the cycle path that descends towards Lörrach for about 200 m and rejoin the road you saw on the way there.
(8) Turn right, go back up the road you came on, pass the car park you saw on the way there and continue to the junction before the telecommunications relay station.
(7) Turn left at Daur Hütte, Tüllingen Lindenplatz (red diamond). A little further on, you will see a huge relay tower and a wooden shelter (Daur Hütte). After about 200 m, turn right at the junction and then left a little further on to reach the forest.
(20) Entering the forest at Daur Hütte (nice barbecue area), continue along the path for about 100 m.
(21) Turn left for 100 metres. You can take a shortcut by continuing straight ahead to reach the starting point.
At the edge of the forest, turn right and continue along the forest with a view of Lörrach below. Keep following this path, which occasionally enters the forest. The path becomes a tarmac road again, leading to a meadow and the car park at the starting point (S/E).
