The George Sand route in Revin
A walking route, mostly shaded, leading to the paragliding take-off site, offering a superb panoramic view of the Meuse valley. This route pays tribute to George Sand, the writer. Captivated by the Ardennes landscapes in 1869, she drew inspiration from them for her novel *Malgrétout*.

Tour of Lac des Vieilles Forges
This walk takes you around Lac des Vieilles Forges in the Ardennes. This is a very accessible route, mainly through forest, but you can add more sections along the lake if you wish. It was a little muddy after the previous day's rain (wear appropriate footwear).
Fumay – Vresse-sur-Semois
From the French Meuse at Fumay to the Belgian Semois at Vresse-sur-Semois, this is a stage featuring significant elevation changes, both uphill and downhill. The paths are very varied, ranging from tarmac roads to well-marked farm tracks, forest tracks generally in good condition, and footpaths that are more or less well marked. It is a long stage, tiring due to its steep climbs followed by equally steep descents, and takes place mainly through woodland. The arrival point and end of the stage are not fixed, as I am staying with a local resident.

A circular route lasting a good two hours through the forest on a forest track.
In Thiérache, starting from Viroinval
The Thiérache is a fragmented region, spread across two countries, three French departments (Nord, Aisne and Ardennes) and two Belgian provinces (Hainaut and Namur).
As you wander through the forest, discover the Namur part of the Thiérache, with the Ry d’Alyse forming the border with France, the remains of the now-abandoned slate quarries, and also the site of the Centre of Europe from the time when there were only 15 of us and the United Kingdom was still part of it.
Circular on the southern shore of Lac des Vieilles Forges
Walk along the lake on the undeveloped shore, then return to the starting point through the forest on the heights of the Bois de Renwez.
From Les Hauts du Terne to Les Hauts Buttés
This hike will take you in the footsteps of the Cerceaux quarry workers and the inhabitants of the "Hauts" who once lived off livestock farming, crop cultivation and forestry. You can stroll along these varied paths, perhaps once trodden by pilgrims from Saint-Antoine des Hauts Buttés. On the way back, you will enjoy an easy descent along the Pilette stream.
La Crête de l’Enveloppe and Le Roc la Tour

The Semoy Valley and its hills
This forest route offers an introduction to the French section of the Semoy. At the various viewpoints, you can admire the rugged landscape shaped by the river and its many tributaries.
This walk takes you past almost all of the villages along the Semoy.
This route combines two other routes that I have described, starting from Thilay.
