Refuge de la Coire walks
Mont Coin and Roc de la Charbonnière via the ridges
Roc de la Charbonnière is not the best-known of the peaks, but it sits enthroned in the centre of the Beaufortain massif, opposite Pierra Menta. The ridge route leading there from Mont Coin is magnificent, with views in all directions and abundant flora in season. Only the final climb in a chaotic mineral landscape is more demanding than the grassy terrain that predominates along the route.
Pointe de Combe Bénite circular from the hamlet of Thiabord
Circular hike in the Beaufortain Massif with access from the Tarentaise Valley (Aime then Granier). This hike minimises the elevation gain with a start at the hamlet of Thiabord, accessible by car on a drivable (but unpaved) road. This hike offers a very varied route, with part of the route along the ridge. The circular can be completed with a detour to the Refuge de la Coire.

Lac Tournant
This is a circular walk based on trail 5 as promoted by the Arêches tourist board. It is well marked with yellow signs and paint flashes or markers for trail 5. There are good views over to Mont Blanc, the Beaufortain Mountains and the lake, although small, is a nice place to eat your sandwiches.
