From Aime-la-Plagne, head towards Granier and park in the village's central car park.
(S/E) Walk up the street towards the stopover lodge Pollen and then take the first right to the carriage road where the hike begins. Keep left until you reach the road.
Follow it to the right. At the Y-junction, turn left to reach the intersection of the circular. Follow the signs for "Thiabor" and "le Verarret".
(2) Keep to the uphill road. Quickly turn onto the path on the left. Cut across a track and then, very quickly, turn left onto another path to pass under the Chavonne ski lifts. Take the path on the right and then turn right again onto the track. Pass under the ski lifts again and cross a path coming from the left at Chavonne.
(3) Continue straight ahead. Follow two hairpin bends and, at the third, leave the main track.
(4) Continue on the path leading off to the left (west) in hairpin bends to Verraret.
(5) Keep to the right until you reach the ponds and take the path that passes under the Fontaine du Haut (there are two). Take the path that passes under the Pointe de Combe Bénite, which is easy to follow from there as it is the only one. After the two ponds, continue on the path uphill to Stream du Gargot.
(6) Continue uphill to the right. Pass Lac des Vacherins and head towards Lac de la Pouprezaz.
(7) Pass just above the latter in a charming little valley. Cross the Ruisseau de la Pouprezaz to reach a crossroads.
(8) Take the uphill path. Pass to the right of Lac de la Gouille to reach the highest point of the route.
(9) Begin the descent opposite. Take the first path on the left, then cut across a track. Do the same when you reach the Chalets du Cormet and cross the stream. Continue to the track and turn right to the Refuge de la Coire.
(10) Turn onto the path starting at a sharp angle on the right. Cross the Ruisseau du Cormet stream again and continue straight ahead four times to reach the Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite chapel.
(11) Continue downhill to the road.
(12) Follow the road. Immediately after the Pouprepaz stream, take a first turn left then right onto the first path. Keep left at the bend in the road. After the bend, take the first path on the left and rejoin the road at the Cormet torrent.
(13) Continue straight ahead. Take the first path on the left. Continue straight ahead at the first crossroads. Cross the Nant du Gargot stream and you will come to a crossroads.
(14) Keep to the far left. Turn right, then cross a canal to reach the Sentier du Grand Bief.
(15) Follow this path to the junction at the start.
(2) Turn left and return to the starting point by retracing your steps (S/E).
