Prinçay walks
The Church of Prinçay and the Château de la Roche du Maine
A short hike mainly through fields, discovering a beautiful Romanesque church (later remodelled) and a beautiful Renaissance castle. There are a few views of the countryside.
Loop between Faye-la-Vineuse and La Belle Indienne
A hike mainly through fields, with two beautiful heritage sites, the Collegiate Church of Saint-Georges (12th century) at the start and a dovecote a little over halfway along the route. There are some beautiful views along the way.
The Veude, its banks and hillsides, and the Saint-Louis Chapel
A peaceful walk along the Veude river, then up the hillsides for a panoramic view, before visiting the remarkable Saint-Louis Chapel.
La Motte Castle and Remeneuil Priory
This hike, which mainly takes place on field paths and small roads with very little traffic, offers beautiful heritage sites and views.
For the most part, the route has been designed and marked by the Vienne departmental committee of the FFRP (the end ofthe PR®® has been short-circuited as it is of limited interest and runs too close to the A10 motorway).
(Please note) The route is interrupted between (8) and (9) due to the closure of a passage through an active quarry (see messages posted on 10/12/25). A detour is being considered. In the meantime, please use the alternatives described in the practical information section.
Dolmens and sacred stones around Les Trois-Moutiers
On the border between Poitou and Touraine, this route takes you to several dolmens and a "mound" where large slabs were gathered by our Neolithic ancestors. The hike alternates between fields and woodland and passes through pretty villages with beautiful tuffeau stone houses and troglodyte cellars.

In the land of Rabelais
From Seuilly to Cinais, this walk with its valleys, woods, moors, panoramic views and famous character François Rabelais offers a very varied stroll. Walk in the footsteps of the famous writer.
Hillsides, troglodyte dwellings, vineyards and river in Chinon
This beautiful and varied route takes you past a hillside of troglodyte houses, through some of the most beautiful plots of the Chinon vineyards - Le Clos de l'Olive, Le Clos Guillot, Le Chêne Vert, Le Coteau de Noiré - and back through the woods along a small stream that flows into the Vienne.
Le Puits du Pain and La Fuie de Roncé
Between woods and vineyards, this is a fairly short hike that offers beautiful architectural heritage.
Heritage and Forest in Avon-les-Roches
A pleasant walk through fields, woods and vineyards, discovering the rich heritage of the Touraine region: a church, the ruins of a collegiate church, troglodyte dwellings, wash houses, tuffeau stone houses... and even a "solar farm".

The circular Fontevraud Abbey starting from Montsoreau
A superb circular hike allowing you to discover Montsoreau, Fontrevaud and Candes-Saint-Martin in their natural setting and localities located in remarkable sites. The circular hike is done anti-clockwise on the hillside to enjoy a pleasant route through the woods and panoramic views of the right bank of the Loire.
From Montsoreau to Candes-Saint-Martin
Montsoreau and Candes-Saint-Martin are two villages that form a single urban area. They transcend regional boundaries because the Loire and the hillside unite them.
This route allows you to discover the white houses scattered along the river and the confluence with the Vienne.
This is a walk to be done at sunrise to fully enjoy the light shining on the façades.

Please note that the trail is impassable in the event of flooding of the Loire and/or heavy rainfall.
In the land of basket makers
I invite you to discover a remarkable village in Touraine, Villaines-les-Rochers, the village of basket makers. A varied itinerary takes you through the hamlets of the village, rich in troglodyte houses where many active basket makers live, the Château du Petit Boulay and the surrounding countryside, rich in streams and woods.
