(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Languivoa. On the way there or back, take the time to explore this chapel with its turbulent history, which even nearly disappeared (information board). Continue to the crossroads with an old cross.
(1) Turn left, follow the small road and you’ll come to a junction with a ‘Stop’ sign.
(2) Carry on straight ahead, pass under two power lines, then turn left at the next road, following the sign for “Moulin de Kerbénoc’h”. Ignore the turn-offs for Créac’h Irvin and then Kerbénoc’h, and you’ll reach the small car park after the old mill (information board about the lake).

(3) Carry on, crossing a small bridge, then turn right to reach the edge of the lake (barrier). Follow the shore anti-clockwise and head towards its northern end, an area overgrown with aquatic plants and shrubs and often frequented by swans. You’ll reach a footbridge.
(4) Cross this footbridge, which spans the Rivière de Pont-l’Abbé – as yet a modest stream that feeds the lake. Continue along a rather marshy area. Further on, on the left, a sign pointing to the Fontaine de Saint-Couléo invites you to take a short round trip to a spring nestled in the hillside, complete with a pool. Continue due south; gradually, the view over the lake opens up. On your left, look out for a small pond called Étang Noir, which forms part of the grounds of the nearby Manoir de Lestrémec. You’ll come to two barriers at a car park with an information board explaining the management of this water reserve.
(5) Turn left and follow the small road to the next junction.
No signposting.
(6) Turn left towards “Plonéour-Lanvern”. Turn left then right to reach the entrance to the Manoir de Lestrémec, a 16th- and 17th-century building. Its chapel, dating from 1643, has recently been beautifully restored by the owners. This manor house is private, but if the owners are there, they will be delighted to show you around.
(7) Retrace your steps, turn left onto the road and follow this small road, ignoring the various turnings on both the left and right. After a bend, this road leads to the Moulin de Trémillec, crossing the Rivière de Pont-l’Abbé once more – still just a modest stream.
(8) Continue along the same road, which alternates between ascents and descents, whilst ignoring the various turn-offs to the right and left.
(9) Look out for a 3.5-metre-high menhir on the right, in a ditch, which is leaning dangerously. Carry on straight ahead, passing under the two power lines once more.
(2) At the junction with a Stop sign, turn right and follow the route in reverse to return to the car park after the chapel (S/E).
